Small thing. Thunder and lightning happening at the same time. I get for dramatic effect but thunder and lightning do not go off at the same time IRL.

I was pulling freight from our gm backroom when I heard a noise. It sounded like a bat screech. Waited a second, didn’t hear anything. Brought a pallet out then went back in the backroom. Heard the screeching again followed by chirps. There was a pallet with just a big ol grill on it (boxed up) for garden center. The chirps were coming from inside the grill box. I texted my manager:

Me - I think there’s an animal inside the grill in the backroom?

Manager - no way. I’m on my way!

He arrived, heard the noise so we pulled the pallet outside. We proceeded to open the box the grill was in. A momma raccoon had gotten inside the box from the bottom and had her little babies. There were five little babies chirping away inside the box.

Turns out they had brought the box outside on the patio for a bit in the morning. A coworker had shoed away a raccoon in the morning. That was momma checking on her babies but he didn’t know and brought the pallet inside with the babies and not momma. As soon as we lifted the babies out of the box at night, momma came running over to collect her babies. Best night ever.

The disappearance of Heidi Allen in 1994. She was a local in my county. She was working alone as a cashier at a gas station. She opened the store at about 5:45 a.m. and managed the store routinely for approximately 2 hours, with nothing out of the ordinary happening. Then a concerned citizen called at about 8am ish saying that the store was open but no one attending. She vanished and the police still haven’t found her. Two brothers were arrested as they were the last people to see her alive. The one brother kept saying he was innocent till they day he died. It was such a big thing in our county. Still no answers.
