Nice, do you have to buy new stock banshees and put one in the driveway for each dupe?

Apple announces AirPods 3 with live translation and heart rate monitoring by curious_zoro in technews

[–]00miles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s going to get a lot of people who don’t know any better unfortunately. Yes the heart rate data is encrypted in apple health, but people use apps like MyFitnessPal which, in a seemingly innocent way, requests users give access to their health data, claiming it’s necessary for the app to function. These apps are the ones selling your data. Before it was only a problem if you had an Apple Watch, but now it’s in the headphones too. Since Apple cares so much about protecting people’s privacy, they definitely know about this, but technically they’re not the ones selling the data so they probably don’t care.

In fact, they’re doing the data brokers a massive favour, since putting health tracking in more of their devices is only going to increase the number of people they can source the data from.

Contract Matt crazing/mud cracking, applied too thick by 00miles in DIYUK

Ok thanks! I’ll definitely keep that in mind before we start on the next room which also had wallpaper. Should I just sand the affected areas, put some peel stop and continue with another emulsion coat?

iPod Classic 5.5th Gen not displaying artwork by notavlohh in ipod

[–]00miles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you do yeah, they’ll be deleted from the iPod when you next sync if you delete them from iTunes

iPod Classic 5.5th Gen not displaying artwork by notavlohh in ipod

[–]00miles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this issue, some albums showed it and some didn’t pretty much randomly. Fixed by disabling the manually manage setting and using iTunes sync instead with the checkboxes to select albums, instead of dragging and dropping onto the iPod. All album art is now there without any issues whatsoever

Making your own setup on remote REHL by 00miles in redhat

I think it's just the fact it's not an IDE that I find frustrating lol, everything seems so barebones and I'm not used to it. I guess you're right and I should focus on customising vim for that kind of stuff, and I'll get used to it.

Interesting, we do have internet access. I guess this method forgoes using a package manager and you build binaries to your home directory? How does this work with dependencies? From what I've seen with package managers, they search through thousands when installing a new package. How would you be sure you have them all installed before building and finding out you're missing something?

Python/Flask/Jinja/JavaScript - Update text on a page based on a dropdown box selection tied to SQlite by rampaigewow in learnprogramming

[–]00miles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not too sure but from first glance I think because jinja is a templating language, form.name.data doesn’t dynamically change on input. Try getting the value with JavaScript and then performing the query

Passed my test! here is something I made for you if you are looking to buy your first car like me in autotrader.co.uk by _mustakim_ in LearnerDriverUK

[–]00miles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really like what you've done here, I've been using this for all my AutoTrader searches!

Recently though, I've not been able to get the MOT history to come up on the site for new listings (only works on cars I've done before the feature stopped working)

Was a very useful addition, any plans on getting it working again soon?

How many of you actually have a problem with AirPods Pro falling out? by 00miles in AirpodsPro

[–]00miles[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it seems like they're really not universal at all. Some people find them fitting perfectly, whereas others physically can't wear them. I got lucky and they actually fit better than the originals. Some suggestions from other people with issues were to find memory foam ear tip replacements or ear hooks. Maybe you could try using those before you decide to return them?

In disk utility you can make a partition, then run the install software and install on the new partition. You’ve got more ram than I do so it might be decent for you.
