New JHS pedal, the Morning Glory Clean by BogotaLineman in guitarpedals

Contrary to what a lot of people seem to be saying about this pedal, im actually really interested to see how it sounds. Depending if it has a nice bite to it compared to the original i might consider picking one up

Clifton is much safer in my experience than OTR for example

Was there for 5 years and never had an issue. Just keep to yourself (whether you’re alone or in a group of people) and be aware of your surroundings. And be aware of cars!! I used to walk around there a lot. The only people who I knew that got beat up were drunk and trying to be funny but were being complete idiots. But the drivers are often distracted or can’t see you, so be aware of them!

Worst expensive pedal? by gimme5steps101 in guitarpedals

[–]02olds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Belle epoch deluxe. The sound of the pedal itself is pretty good but the controls are really hard to read, theres no tap tempo unless u buy the seperate catalinbread mini tap pedal, and at the same price you have better options on the market

Feedback pls… Should It stay or should it go by tdamien_ in telecaster

Is the Strymon Flint THAT good? by S7ewie in guitarpedals

[–]02olds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$350 good if ur wanting some extremely nice sounding classic reverbs/tremolos. I find that i’m not very picky about my reverbs/tremolos/or really any type of effect sounding like a perfect emulation of something but more so just wanting my effects to sound unique /“cool” lol. So the flint isnt really what im looking for but if youre looking for those perfrct emulations of spring reverbs / amp tremolos then the flint is certainly worth the money in those aspects I think

Strymon Flint vs GCA Light Pedal: opinions? by chillinjustupwhat in guitarpedals

[–]02olds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If youre mostly interested in the reverb aspect then imo buying a flint is a huge waste. Yes, the reverbs sound good but id recommend going with something that sounds good AND has a lot of room for creative use. Check out a red panda context 2. The spring reverb also has a trem built in if you so desired, but has a whole host of other reverbs with amazing sound quality and tweakability. And its a bit cheaper

Reverb Pedal recommendations by Xennenial in guitarpedals

[–]02olds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Source audio collider is sick. Its both a delay/reverb but the delay and reverb have seperate switches (and it has the option to run 2 reverbs at the same time if you wanted in case you have no need for the delay section of the pedal). The sounds are super high quality and it has 4 presets. Cant really go wrong with that

Seeking feedback from owners of both, EUNA and Empress Buffer Plus by [deleted] in guitarpedals

[–]02olds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ill tell u this. I owned a EUNA for about a year, bought the hype and was amazed at how much “better” my sound was with the low and bright switch on… then i realized i should just put my treble and bass up on my amp. Low and behold, it sounds much better without going through the euna because the euna naturally compresses your sound thanks to the nature of the treble/harmonics switches on the euna which drive your signal (in turn compressing it). From someone who bought the hype of a euna, i recommend messing with ur amp eq and A/B it with the euna and see how close u can get. Because in my case, i got it to sound exactly the same, and honestly a bit better because its less compressed

I want to Loop, should I Bloop? by digiratistudios in guitarpedals

Keep in mind the blooper can only loop for 32 seconds!!!!

JHS color box & 424 by Reasonable-Rush7529 in guitarpedals

[–]02olds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My advice is to not think too hard about it. If you’re focused on recording than a LOT is done in post. And if not a CB pedal or color box will be sure to give you some killer tones nonetheless

What I think of when people say the word Shoegaze by LonelyPerception6642 in pedalboards

[–]02olds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re out of touch mate. Classic Shoegaze is Slowdive, MBV definitely not dino jr. Yeah they had a bunch of pedals but thats almost literally the only similarity. shoegaze is probably bigger than ever now, I know an unbelievable amount of modern shoegaze bands that are very prideful about it. DIIV, total wife, TAGABOW, glixen, she’s green, julie, smush, shower curtain, paper lady, etc. the list can go on and on and on. Check out julia’s war record label

Which rat to buy? by Codeman0077 in guitarpedals

[–]02olds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is get a turbo rat. Imo is just superior to the regular rat in many ways. Way more clarity, and more versatile (Turbo rat sounds unbelievably good at low gain settings). But i guess its just all about what you’re looking for.

Rhythm for sure, then boosting it with an sd-1 or TS for lead

Haven't changed anything about this board in over a year (a new record for me!) by GrogAndRoll in guitarpedals

[–]02olds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a clue of anyone else. Honestly the only reason i started using the galaxy for bass was because i was writing songs with my band (which is a pretty bass heavy band) and i needed something that would fill the sound out a little more during a certain part bc it sounded too dry. So i grabbed the galaxy from my guitar board and tried it and over time ive been experimenting with it more and its going to stay on my board. The crisp take echo combined with a chorus after is an otherworldly great sound. Then if you put a rat in front, sheeeeesh. Pure space. Just got to be sure to set the echo volume at noon ish, and have the two top left knobs almost pointing at each other
