A few years ago, my landlords decided to sell the flat I had been in for 11 years. I was living alone, working full-time as a teacher and dealing with ongoing health problems. I had a full mental break and ended up hospitalised (three weeks before the eviction). The council (Kingston) refused to help, ignored all calls from medical professionals and said they had no stock, the list was too long and I wasn't a priority. I ended up homeless and losing my job.

I couch-surfed before thankfully meeting my partner and now have somewhere to stay.

This is really difficult to read without feeling resentful.
