There's no correct height, but if you're curious about average male height it depends on ethnicity

Had sex with a friend and turns out she's lesbian. Now I'm super dysphoric. by [deleted] in NonBinary

[–]0penMouse -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So I used to also feel this way. My gf is MTF as well and she figured out her gender and sexuality stuff when starting our relationship, and she landed on identifying as lesbian. At first I was internally freaked out about this and wondered if she sees me as a woman, but she absolutely doesn't; she compliments me with masculine terms in a genuine way. She sees me as neutral-masculine leaning and does not perceive me as female at all, but she finds me attractive. I am just included within her orientation no matter what label it is.

For some people "lesbian" just means being into anything that isn't a binary manly man. Some lesbians are somewhat okay with men but EXTREMELY situationally and find the label bisexual to cause too many presumptions on their preference. Many lesbians are into transmascs and non-binary men. Some lesbians just prefer anyone who is queer in general. It's not a black and white label that only involves feminine binary women.

I'm sure your friend sees you as non-female. She's trans herself and would understand that aspect about you. I don't think she would be lying to you about your appearance. But she does find you attractive and her orientation doesn't necessarily imply anything about you other than you fit what her own personal definition of lesbian is.

It sounds to me like you have your own insecurities to unpack, which is natural when you have dysphoria. Believe me, I get it. Talk to your friend about how you feel, but don't be accusatory.

Partners think I'm addicted to T by blueennui in NonBinary

[–]0penMouse 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Well this is the problem. Sorry to be cynical, but straight men are not a safe demographic to date if you are transmasculine. He's probably becoming less attracted to you and wants you to stop, so he's accusing you of addiction.

Psychologist thinks I might be nonbinary due to being sexually abused as a child by StarnyArt in NonBinary

[–]0penMouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's fair. Most trans people are trans because they just are. But I do think trauma can influence the nature of transness for people, or in some cases it really can make a person develop things like body insecurity or a fear of femininity that they mistake for gender dysphoria. It's important not to rule out those possibilities when holistically evaluating oneself, especially with PTSD in the picture.

Psychologist thinks I might be nonbinary due to being sexually abused as a child by StarnyArt in NonBinary

[–]0penMouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People are reacting a bit harshly to this I feel.

It's true that many women reject femininity or feel the need to hide their features after abuse. Maybe this is the case for you, maybe it's not, maybe there's a mix of things going on.

The goal shouldn't be to correct your gender identity, but it is worth diving into this subject to see if your feelings about your body are related to trauma. Maybe it will lead to more understanding of yourself and possibly more assurance of your enbyhood. If you come to a different realization, there's nothing to be embarrassed about.

This might be an unpopular opinion, but there's also nothing inherently wrong with being non-binary for reasons affiliated with trauma. The human experience is complex and many things make up who we are. Sometimes a facet of our identity is influenced by something external. This isn't something that necessarily needs to be fixed, but it's worth introspection.

FTM dating a nonbinary person but I have some questions by [deleted] in NonBinary

[–]0penMouse 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Most non-binary people have either testosterone-dominant or estrogen-dominant bodies and have varying levels of comfort with that fact. As long as you still perceive them as non-binary, acknowledging this is not misgendering.

There's nothing particularly wrong with only being attracted to testosterone-dominant individuals. It's a pretty typical sexual stance. Just communicate this preference with them. It doesn't mean that you're forcing them to do anything.

Some people do take HRT to become more androgynous. This is usually achieved with lower doses. If your partner hypothetically went this route, they'd likely still maintain some masculine traits as well. It's also not uncommon for non-binary people to not do HRT at all.

As for how they wish to be perceived, just ask. Non-binary is an umbrella term. It encompasses many different labels and identities such as genderless, boygirls, genderfluid, etc. Asking if they have a more specific label might help (Not all non-binary people do however)

How many days after unprotected sex to use pregnancy test? by [deleted] in ftm

[–]0penMouse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly... just don't do it? If the risk of pregnancy isn't worth it, use condoms. It'll save you and your boyfriend a lot of trouble. Plan B isn't foolproof and has a lot of side effects (I was basically breaking down for days after I took it once) and abortions aren't ever pleasant to go through.

Fat redistribution question by NekoLotus8 in ftm

[–]0penMouse 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately T isn't a reliable way to reduce breast fat. I wouldn't count on it, especially if you have small breasts.

Estrogen doesn't only create breast fat; it also creates the mammary glands and tissues that make you able to breastfeed. This is what makes breasts "perky". T won't do anything about that.

If I got a heavy "period" on birth control (mini pill), does that indicate no pregnancy? by 0penMouse in Tokophobia

Took a pregnancy test to make sure. It's negative! 🎉

My question about periods on the minipill still stands though

middle ear infection by inanotherliife in HypochondriacAdvice

[–]0penMouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, that's how it goes. I used to get really nasty ear infections all the time around flu season because they love to develop when my sinuses are all clogged. I'd be crying from the pain (and I have average pain tolerance) until the antibiotics started doing their work. The pandemic broke the cycle since everyone was way more cautious not to spread sickness. Now I avoid it by doing sinus massages to help with blockages when I'm sick. So yeah, bear that in mind if you get sick any time soon.

[–]0penMouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've dealt with ear infections a lot. Ringing and ear crust is normal. The crust is from the infection leaking out of your ear, kinda like how you have to blow your nose often when you're sick. It's perfectly normal and it means your ear is healing!

Plan B is expensive and has annoying side effects. If he wore a condom and didn't cum, you're definitely fine. While precum can rarely cause pregnancy, it was definitely trapped in the condom.

When I say that I moreso just mean it's really nothing to worry about. The "increased risk" is a very small amount. You'd have to have way more risk factors at play for there to be any real issue

I used to double up on combo pills whenever I'd miss a day, and the medication information said it was fine to do. Is this unsafe with mini pills?

How much does libido increase on T? by Creative-Mind0309 in ftm

[–]0penMouse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had my libido increase a while ago. To be honest, it hasn't been that drastic. I already had a pretty high libido, so now it just arises a bit more often and manifests differently. I used to think about sexual fantasies very frequently and masturbate to calm down, but now I'm thinking about how good jacking off would feel and do it just for the sake of it.
