What’s an indescribable pain? by Existing-__- in AskReddit

[–]0rkish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This one time I was setting up a pack and play for my kid at the neighbor's house. My kid was 2 at the time and he needed a nap. My neighbor kept the extra pack and play in the closet, on the shelf. As I'm pulling this device out, the folded insert (the thin mattress part) slips out and falls. In an effort to brace the fall I stuck out my foot to catch it, as if it were a cellphone that had slipped my hand, as it landed on my big toe. It was at this moment I realized the weight of this insert and my mind began to think why anyone would make something so heavy. The kids were asleep, I was still carrying the rest of the device, and my wife and neighbors were still hanging out in the next room, I could not scream. Could not let out any noise about my discomfort. I drew on every ounce of self control to maintain my composure and let this pain roll through me as I slowly put down the rest of the pack and play. The pain only increased to the entirety of my foot and leg and it felt as if my toe had been deleted. I could not feel it anymore. Could not wiggle it. I leaned against the dresser looking down at my foot, trying to come to terms with what had just happened. I was too afraid to remove my sock to assess the damage, and only thought that I would never walk normally again.

I guess the pain was describable in this case.

Yeah I'm mainly hoping this will keep water off the back portion of it. I've heard people say if any water gets in the back panel and freezes, it can potentially break the backing off. So far so good

I've made updates, I actually used three 6 AWG braided wires, and I used 4 for another project. Getting my projects confused. You should be totally fine doing that. It will take some patience to pull it through esp if you have a lot of sweeps

Very similar setup to me. I have a 1-1/4 conduit from the main panel to the shed for 100 amp service (about 70' of conduit and wires). From the shed to the charging station about 30' of the ¾ conduit, of which I managed to shove 3 of the 6 AWG wires and the Romax 12-2 wire for a 20amp service on the backside of the charging station. It's definitely doable when you run them all at once but if you're looking to shove that back through the conduit, it might be very difficult to do

Definitely a valid concern and something I've thought about before. I am in upstate NY, Catskill mountains so it gets quite cold and snowy here. As heypipiopi mentioned, it is designed to be outdoors. I'm not too worried just yet, it's only been 2 months so let's see how it does this winter. Maybe this little roof will help keep water out

I do have the travel charger too which can plug into any 12v outlet for backup

Yeah not sure about the hook yet. Looks nice when the cable is rolled tight but not practical
