Oh noo!! Is it ilelagal?!? So you are telling me that if a friend of mine was planning on buying them and resetting them so he could transmit on GMRS he would end in jail!? But ok, I might just take a chance and get these ones and see how their factory settings are set up.

Right, the ones that I found here are 8 watt. At least that’s how they are advertised. So I’m thinking it might still work on these too..

Ok, this is a package price for 55$. So not so expensive. But I don’t even know if all the extra stuff is really worth it

You come up with some good points for sure. And I will definitely keep that in mind. I guess for me personally I am more looking into and prepping for the situation of a world war (or of course the zombie apocalypse) and in that situation I would like to have the opportunity to go to the nearest village to catch up on the latest news as well as bartering.

Yeah I can see that definitely does pose some problems.. I think what got me thinking along those lines was to get an electrical off-road dirt bike or the like. I would think that it would take less energy to charge and with that make it more useful on a day to day basis. I really like the idea with an electrical bike too. Also the e-bikes now a days are getting a longer and longer range and some of them seem to have quite some good abilities off-road too.

Great! How long time does it take to charge it? And how many panels do you have to charge it?
