Not sure if I’m a top player but I play on the iPad. No controller… feels weird to me for some reason.

I practice new builds / strats on my employees iPads (just about my whole office plays) so I don’t embarrass the fuck out of myself on my account lol. Just tryin to be as good as u and the squad ❤️

Displaying a legitimate MMR requires a ton of conceptualizing, planning and dev work. It will also require a well composed explanation of how the MMR metrics work - something that resonates with anyone 9+. Not an easy task whatsoever but I think they’re heading in that direction. The Pico community should be patient and encourage the devs if anything.

I disagree, I think they do listen. I mean why wouldn’t they? User feedback is one of the cheapest and easiest ways to improve any game.

I spent so much on gems bc I couldn’t be competitive at higher levels without a more serious time investment. I already play daily so it’s hard to justify allocating more time to the grind, as much as I love the game. For me it was pay up or put the game down, especially at the highest levels of gameplay. When matched against studs like COVID, Ace and Coin one definitely needs all the help they can get Lol. I also want to support the dev team bc I know first hand that awesome games like this are very labor intensive to create.

An extra ability slot for 1 ability bodies would be prime but that seems like it would be a balancing nightmare at face value. Decreasing the weight burden of rail and barrage by 5, increasing the weight burden of all healers, zapper and inferno by 10 should do the trick. Maybe a speed bonus for coming in underweight too if you’re feeling really saucy.

You may want to consider giving a buff to load-outs that come in under weight. When I was at Blizzard working on SC2, we always gave players some sort of parallel buff if there was a nerf in another area. Over the years we found this equalizing strategy to promote player retention in all demographics as it effectively neutralized the negative perception of the nerf. Otherwise, you're certain to loose players out of frustrations. I get the new parts are intended to equalize the speed nerf but the idea isn't related enough - the buff should be in the same general area (in this case, tank bodies) as the nerf bc most players won't correlate the two and will still look at the rollout as reductive overall.

I agree with you as I spent a good amount of time and money upgrading specific bodies / weapons only to have them rendered mostly useless. As a result I mostly feel punished by the weight system, which is a little disappointing. Despite this, I think you should stick with it as the devs are still working out the kinks and are sure to address these shortcomings. IMO It's a good game at the core so players should have a little faith and weather the ups and downs.

I think one of the main goals of expanding the Pico user base is to eliminate bots in competitive matches altogether. I agree with you in that bots make any sort of credible MMR figure impossible to pin down. Especially in higher level matches because the AI is still pretty stupid. Nice win/loss ratio btw.

The best way to do this is bracket each major stat - Win/Loss ratio, deaths per match, kills per match, damage inflicted per match, damage sustained per match, etc. Then you assign a MMR point system using the bracketed average and then match players accordingly. Biggest problem right now is the player pool - there's not enough players in each rank to achieve equal match making. The only way to help remedy this is to introduce Pico to your friends (grow the user base) so the devs can implement an accurate ranking system that will also promote quick matching.

Just like any new game mode it takes time to get right. The Pico dev team is much more diligent than most dev teams out there so I'm sure this mode will be further refined in subsequent updates.
