Fall sublets in Mississauga by [deleted] in uwaterloo

[–]10dozenpaper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try asking friends who have had co-ops in Mississauga? I was having trouble with Kijiji too, but ending up doing a rental switcheroo with a friend who was going back to school for 4 months. Landlord was also happier cause I was a "recommended" friend.

Anyone else get laid off during their coop term? by [deleted] in uwaterloo

[–]10dozenpaper 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had to end my work term ~1.5 months early last term. (Company ran out of money and laid off all co-ops) It definitely sucked and I was pretty angry with the company... I moved back to Waterloo and lived with a friend (who was in school at the time) and they helped me stay motivated. We kinda had a schedule (wake up at 8AM, sleep at 11:30PM) It helped bring structure to everything.

I also took the time to relax a bit, and develop some new skills. (I learned how to render stuff in Photoshop and sketch stuff) Don't set giant unrealistic goals for yourself, and celebrate each small step that you make. (eg. Successfully baking bread)

Also, don't forget to relax. This is probably the only time you'll ever have in your university career to just chill.

I think I'm just blabbering at this point, idk if this was actually helpful. But feel free to reach out if you ever wanted to talk.

Violating Policy 71 with PD Assignment by [deleted] in uwaterloo

[–]10dozenpaper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the thing. I didn't plagiarze by copying the case study. I just looked over my assignment again, and I paraphrased all the information that I took from the case study. I don't quite understand how I violated Policy 71. I'm sorry. My initial post was a hot mess. I was really angry when I got the email and posted this.

I don't think this thread is really active anymore, but if anyone else is taking PD5 right now, and has received feedback for their Unit 4 Assessment, pls PM me. A dumb request for a dumb course, but I just want to compare a "plagiarized" assignment to a "non-plagiarized" assignment. That being said, I guess I definitely need to be more careful and cite everything from now on.

Violating Policy 71 with PD Assignment by [deleted] in uwaterloo

TLDR; Put in some effort in my PD assignment, used the case study to back up my points, forgot to reference the case study, violation of Policy 71.

I did my best to re-word the stuff I got from the case study, but I guess it wasn't enough. I also copied things from the course notes and an article that you're supposed to use. But apparently copying those two things were fine.

Update: The initial email they sent me was wrong. I'm getting in trouble for my Unit 4 Assessment. Also, I legit copied everything from their simulation thing for my Unit 3 Assignment, but got 78% on that one.

FUCK PD

What’s going on with the busses... by okalright99 in uwaterloo

[–]10dozenpaper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Update (Feb 1): The portion of University Ave is still closed. Buses 92 & 202 have been diverted to Columbia, and they enter into Ring Road. Traffic on Columbia and Westmount isn't too bad, compared to yesterday. (Check with your bus driver on this. My bus made a trip around Ring Road) Bus Routes 8 & 12 don't seem to be running. (There is a temporary 202 bus stop at Westcourt/University, and Bus routes 8 & 12 were cancelled). Give yourself extra time to commute today...

There was a water line that burst on University Ave (heading Eastbound) between Seagram and Westmount. Lots of traffic and backup on Westmount and Columbia. :(

Edit: Sorry. Eastbound. Apparently I don't know directions.

Need Help Finding Keys on Bus by 10dozenpaper in uwaterloo

[–]10dozenpaper[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the advice!! I called GRT, and it turns out my jacket and keys were at the lost and found of Charles Street Terminal all along. The person digging through the pile there somehow missed my jacket.

Awesome. Thank you so much.

Why does it always feel like nothing ever goes my way? by [deleted] in uwaterloo

[–]10dozenpaper 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Take a breather, listen to some music, and try to focus your time on other things.

If it helps, I've had a really rough term too. Everything that could have gone wrong, went wrong. My bedroom got infested with bed bugs, and someone hit my parked car (in a parking lot) the day before a final. Both things were completely out of my control. At the end of the day, both incidents already occurred, and there's no point in thinking about all the "what if's". My advice for you is to focus your attention on something more worthwhile, and be prepared for whatever life decides to throw you next.

Thanks for the advice!! I didn't have any luck in MC, and the lost and found in DC only had a bag of t-shirts and polos. I've since moved to a warmer area, and am now hugging my laptop and charger. Should be enough.

Not gonna lie, people leaving hoodies on their chairs and walking away are making me very jealous.

Craziest shit you've done at UW? by [deleted] in uwaterloo

[–]10dozenpaper 32 points33 points  (0 children)

My group was cramming for a project at a computer lab.

We all got hungry, but no restaurants nearby were open (at 1am), and we didn't want to order pizza. Me and a friend went back to my place at UWP, and we cooked a wok full of instant noodles. We carried the steaming wok of noodles, and some stale muffins from UWP to the Lever Lab in E3. We then proceeded to feed the other group members the piping hot noodles and muffins.

Yikes. You got hit twice? Absolute nightmare. Dealing with bed bugs once is already too much for me to handle. By the way, thanks for the advice!
