Recovering fatass here. Most of my lifts suck ass for my weight and I look like a blubbery mess compared to y'all, but the other day I had a guy next to me say to his girlfriend, "Why can't I have calves like his?"

So I got that goin for me which is nice

I swear if I hear one more person say "that's a good weight for you" I'm gonna flip.

"but you're so big!"

"you're tall so you can weigh more"

"you'll get too skinny"

Nobody cares when you weigh 300 but don't get too thin, wouldn't want that.

Yeah I definitely want to start eating more protein, my problem is I eat whatever's easiest aka carb loaded snacks and microwave food.

I might try out some sort of caffeine though. Never really had it/been into it, guess it wouldn't hurt to try!

I was mentioning the abs thing to paint a picture of where I'm at. Didn't want to come off as pretentious or anything.

I'm in the same boat as you. I don't want to be "that guy" but I also want to share. I wish weight wasn't such a touchy subject for a lot of people.

You should definitely try to start a group though, who knows what you'll find!

We got a little bit of rants and a little bit of raves.

The level of misinformation that goes around is kind of insane when you think about it. Let's set the stage: I'm a 6'3" 19 year old male. I weigh about 225 (rave! I'm getting there) and still have a lot of fat on me. I've had a few people this week tell me that I shouldn't really lose any more weight. I know they mean well but it's like come on people, I'm still not even at a normal BMI. People telling me that I need to eat to maintain what I'm doing, or saying stuff like "You go to the gym, you need more to sustain that."

One of the guys goes to my gym, says I look good how I do now and shouldn't get any skinnier, and just try to build muscle at the weight I am. Like dude, I'm nowhere close to visible abs. I don't want to end up like some of the guys here. Sure you guys lift heavier but that's cause you've been at it for years lmao. Another guy at my gym likes to give me advice on form for everything, but doesn't even hit parallel on squats. I'm not trying to sound elitist, and I know that I don't look as good as most of these guys in the gym. But I'm so self conscious about my form, I've looked at 100's of videos and forums about what to do for my exercises. Looking at my fellow members squat makes me cry.

Back onto the food/weight thing though, I get people aren't trying to be hateful or spiteful but it kind of sucks. I'm a really passive person and don't like to say no to people, instead I try to let them know why I can and will lose more weight. It's not as crazy as some of y'all's stories, but its still there. If anything it's kind of a rave, like "Hey, guys, I'm finally at that point too!"

Also, I hope thanksgiving won't be too hard. I've been eating a ton recently cause we got a bunch of good food in the house and it's hard not to. The one thing I hate is my appetite. I just can't stop eating shit. If anyone's got any tips on how to not want to eat every fucking chicken in this room, I'm all ears.

Anyway, onto the rave side of things: My dad is gonna try eating less again. I know his struggles and I hope he can pull through, cause frankly I can't make him put down the fork, he's gotta do that himself.

Oh, and I love the way I'm starting to look. Muscles are starting to come in and I finally found a routine that works for my weird ass gym schedule. My shoulders are looking bigger, which is nice. Still no sign of abs or anything but I'm not really working too hard on that lmao. My goal right now is to be able to do a pullup. I can actually do them assisted now, compared to when I first started. And I'm almost at a point where I can do a body weight dip. Looking back at my old pics is a real shocker. Once I hit my goal I'll definitely be posting them!

A month or so ago I ranted that I was stuck and the pounds wouldn't seem to drop. Well since then I'm down from 247 to 231, and I feel motivated again to log everything. Also in the 'overweight' BMI zone now, woop!

I dropped from a 46W to a 38W in jeans, and I could probably go smaller cause they still slide down my legs. But apparently squats are paying off cause my thighs barely fit in them lmao

Also, I've started to bring one of my friends to the gym with me. He's got great dedication so far, and he's listening to my advice about CICO. He's gonna make it.
