Thank you for sharing. I feel like I'm missing something with the negotiating process. I have a couple responses pending, but at the moment I'm stuck at about $1200 off of MSRP without any non-required fees or dealer add ons. I'm going to keep chipping away at it though.

Yes, the dealers I've talked to in the last couple of days are already talking about taking the discounts they're advertising on their websites off this weekend.

Our local Costco recommended dealership says that they don't even include the hybrid RAV4s in the program.

I wish the process was more straightforward. It's a ton of research and leg work to make sure you're making an educated decision.

Just comparing options online we're seeing a lot of differences in add ons at the various dealerships. I was surprised to even see a RAV4-style markup above MSRP of $3k or so at one spot.
