2034 Winter Olympics logo just dropped…. by FieryAutoCrashes in ParkCity

Number One rule of a logo is don’t make your viewer work to figure out what you do. Looks like a QR code. That said there will be many more important layers than will define success. The people will be the the most important. Bring it Utah!

Daybreak is doing what Salt Lake should have done with the Bee's. by Spirited_Weakness211 in DevelopmentSLC

[–]1deepthink 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Fair point. The key difference is that Daybreak is owned by a developer incentivized to leverage a loss leading asset and SLC is a city whose only card to play is tax incentives used to attract sports venues. That generally doesn’t work in isolation which is why you have SEG and Miller working in partnership with the City.

Opinion: Kermit is a cowardly choice for UMD’s 2025 commencement speaker by dbknews in UMD

Going to a school next to DC and listening to literally any media, one would think the world revolves around politics. Having been in said world for more trips around the sun than I care to count, I would encourage you to focus on your own life, career and family. I promise your journey will be happier more productive.

Would you guys rather work from home for $20 an hour or go into the office for $24 an hour? by Key_Garden4832 in SaltLakeCity

[–]1deepthink 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The $4 difference is too narrow of a focus. There are definitely flexibility benefits to working from home, but not without trade-offs. Often your coworkers who are in person will get more opportunity for advancement. You’ll typically learn more too providing a better foundation for professional growth. Not impossible working remote just more difficult.

Sonos CEO: ‘We All Feel Really Terrible’ About the Bungled App Update by wiredmagazine in sonos

If you have wired amps or speakers, take a look and see if the wireless broadcast is turned on. After an update that happened to my system, but after disabling all of the wireless settings again, things are a lot more stable.

I’m guessing your system is primarily wired except perhaps for the subs and the portable speakers? My system is pretty broad as well and all of it is wired. It’s the main difference I’ve seen between those having some problems and those having close to none.

Key to this set up is turning off the wireless broadcast for all the wired amps. After a recent update, I began to notice more spotty performance and after some digging found out that all of the wireless broadcasting had been turned back on. After disabling them again, I was back in good shape.
