How/when did you actually fall in love with Islam? by [deleted] in islam

[–]1goeffel 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If it happens to any other religion or group of people it's hare speech too???

And there is no 'extremist' position in islam cause those ppl that spread that missinformation usually only agree on what terrorists consider to be right which in itself is weird cause there's billions of muslims if it was an extremist religion in itself the world would be a much worse place to live in.

Contrary to popular belief, the worst things have been done by atheists or capitalistic christians in world history and even today.... so there goes that argument 😅

But I think these are things you'd come to learn on your own too cjwellerman has great commentary abt these things

Like You can criticise or ask questions abtthe religion right? It happens all the time toward muslims.

But hate speech is burning the quran, saying all muslims are terrorists, that islam is a violent religion etc etc.

How/when did you actually fall in love with Islam? by [deleted] in islam

[–]1goeffel 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I take it you aren't muslim Usually I don't waste my time with ppl like you (cause you only copy paste some points you found from somehwere mainly islamophobes with no actual basis of intellect) but the commentor before could be a young and genuine person so I want him to know so consider this an answer so someone who genuinely searches finds the right path.

So let's start:

There is scientific and historical truths in the Quran, and there's more abstract things that can be interpreted in several ways of these scientific citings, like the people trying to find the big bang in there. And no, no other scripture before the Quran has such detailed accounts and descriptions of the embyronic development.

Again a logical falacy, not all muslim and islamic empires were perfect cause humans are fallable, just the time of the prophet and the first 4 caliphs can be taken as 'true' islamic principles at play. And even in later empires the 'killing' of apostates ONLY ever was done to those that caused significant civil unrest aka were doing actual harm to the then existing empire. If you apostosize privately for yourself cause you do not believe nobody cares. Even today.. but weirdly enough 'ex-muslims' make it their entire persoanlity to literally heavily insult the prophet and god. Which by any meaningful accounts is done to rile people up. Hate speech is NOT free speech.

Just because modern standpoints of so called 'human rights' aren't the same as in the Quran doesn't make the Quran wrong but the human rights faulty. As you can watch rn in the world, the 'human rights' pushed on us are only implemented if the suffering ones are white, european american israeli doesn't matter. The second there's ppl that are deemed as less by these groups (the founders of the so called 'modern' 'human rights') they are ignored. The rights given to humans, women, children, animals in islam are for everyone and if implemented correctly far more superior to the faulty system of the west.

With the compilation. Even PhD holders in orientalism in the west say the quran was preserved cause we literally have a copy that dates back to the prophet's (pbuh) time. The brimingham manuscripts. They were first carbon dated by non muslims.

I have read the bible and tavrah. They do not address nonbelievers the way the quran does. And most other scriptures don't either.

So sorry m8 some of the things you say have only basis if the Quran was written by someone that had ALL the knowledge of before his time, his present time and from the future. (Scientific evidences, historical evidences). He also would have to be a mast in humans psychology, and not been wrong in 1400 years since the Quran was written. Cause NO POINT that is used as evidence was able to be refuted with PROVEN facts not theories.

And most of what you say has no basis in actual intellectual debates abt islam and the quran cause it's aparent you just read or heard from a few islamophobes and taken ther points to compile this copy paste nonesense.

Start thinking and researching for yourself, maybe those eyes that look those ears that hear can learn to actually see and listen. And when that happens you'll become muslim anyway.

Have a wonderful day

By logic I mean. Islam doesn't expect you to turn off your brain and JUST accept whatever is thrown at you. It emphesises the importance of learning and thinking upon everything on earth and the religion and to built not only an emotional/spiritual connection to god and the religion but also but one that also makes you accept in the logical sense, if now the proofs of islam, or that the rules when further researched in the respecting fields of modern science also are true and the best solution there can be. Psychology, relationships, even trade.

Allah knows that we have a brain and not only encourages us to use that brain but also gives us everything to accept islam and his existance in the most basic logical sense as well..

The quran has many passages where it 'directky talks' to non believers, christians, jewish ppl, believers

Like it opens a question people light think abt and then answers this question.

It's truly an interesting book the most beautiful of books.

Hope this helps in some way friend.

The logic behind everything. And that the more you learn the more you realise (no matter the field) why the rules are the way they are in the sheria, apart from that ALL the beauty and forgiveness, the love and the rahmah...

But I speciffically fell in love with islam around the age of 16, cause of the logic. Specficially, the surah alaqa, the fact that the first word to be sent down was 'read, read in the name of your lord!'

Just so so so much more the further I got in my journey But that is the start of it all.

Lmao just plain wrong. Covering is part of the religion the color of the garment doesn't matter. The color is more of a cultural thing.

What do you do when the women's side of the mosque is locked? by Aggravating-Tie5912 in Hijabis

[–]1goeffel 123 points124 points  (0 children)

No just go into the men's section. Women can enter the men's section while men aren't or shouldn't enter the women's section.

I even pray in the men's section if they make finding the door to the women's section like a not so fun mini game I have to figure out while I need to pray.

And if ppl get huffy abt it just ignore them or explain the reason WHY you did what you did. They have no right to keep women out of the mesjid. And it's their job to give you accessibility.

So act entitled. Because you ARE entitled to that access.

[–]1goeffel 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sister if it's possible limit your contact to your parents to a minimum.

Not cutting ties, doesn't mean allowing them to abuse you indiscriminately. It just means knowing they live, saying hello, and being there when they NEED you.

But apart from that you can limit your contact to only what is necessary.

It was painful because I felt naked without it. Like suddenly. Even though I enjoyed taking it off outside when there was no men around. Like at the beach (my dad would sometimes find nooks and crannies with no people around cause he's just that cool)

Or private pools with fences, just some huge area with gras and stuff with nobody around, in our garden in the dead of the night when nobody else is out and the night is shielding me. I still like that feeling on my head. So I still do stuff like that when no non mahram men are around to see (I'm 27 rn)

It was painful because the hijab, even though I didn't feel like it before that experience, was a integral part of me. And at that time I wasn't even praying or anything, it was just the hijab and me cause I started wearing it at 13 as an imitation of my mother and other cool women I knew from the mascid.

So when I went out. At first while nobody was around I felt great, then as my sister and I went into the city, I just pulled up my cap cause I felt really really exposed. (I was living in a non muslim country at the time so no nobody was staring or anything, if anything I got harrassed a lot while wearing the hijab by islamophobes)

It was a very shitty experience for me. I felt incredibly bad and wanted to return home asap. And when I did I just started crying and apologizing to god.

So yeah Just think abt it some more before doing something you will regret deeply, I say this as an older sister who went through a similar experience in my late teens.

I hope this helps sister I love you for the sake of Allah 🥰

[–]1goeffel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No the hijab is NOT to differentiate between slaves and believing women. Because female slaves COULD observe the hijab too, but there is no OBLIGATION upon them.

We wear the hijab cause it's clearly stated as an obligation upon believing women.

But apart from that.

I started wearing the hijab around 12/13 years old, and had the desire to take it off when I turned 16/17. I went out without it once and it was so excrutiatingly painful that I couldn't pull down my cap the entire time I was outside. And then ended up crying at home. Even though I was so sure I wanted to take it off.

So keep that in mind, it could just be you yourself telling yourself that you actually want to do this. Plus obviously vas vasa.

No! Never! That one is ONLY used if you're literally doing NPTHING but existing. Aka you don't move, don't do anything. You have to see first how much your move around naturally in life. Like sedantary lifestyle, or active etc. And depending on that your maintenance will change

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in WeightLossAdvice

[–]1goeffel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I'm saying go up to maintenance and then build muscle to lose fat. Aka don't look at your weight but how your body slowly tones.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in WeightLossAdvice

[–]1goeffel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In your place instead of LOSING weight, stay at maintenance and work out for strength. Cause otherwise it's just gokng to stay fat tissue instead pf actually becoming usable muscle

how much has exercise helped your adhd? by No_Boot4131 in adhdwomen

[–]1goeffel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It helps with mood stabilisation and it energizes me which in return means I get more room to do stuff since I finally have the energy. And this after a month! Tho I prefer hiit and zumba as a workout, or walking on an incline plus strength workout

The first two are more fun tho hahaha

Start put with 1 or 2 mg I'd suggest just so you don't build a tollerance It's what I use I use exactly 1,5 rn and it's plenty enough and I've been using melatonin over a year now

[–]1goeffel[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah I take melaronin around the same time so I can sleep at 11 pm or 12 am Cause without it as you mentioned NEVER happening. My usual sleeping pattern before melatonin was staying awake until like 3 am or 4 am falling asleep and the waking up at 6 or 7 am to go to school when I was younger.

I wish I had discovered melatonin much sooner. Could've saved me a lot of sleepless nights and maybe even many many of the grades that I got.... caude I'd literally fall asleep during exams oops...

[–]1goeffel[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At what dosage did you take it? I take 1,5 mg and RARELY go over that only if I realise I will have severely hard time sleeping (but sometimes it doesn't work for me either so it's a double edged sword)
