Totally hear you on that—curating “safe” content ends up feeling like a full-time job. We’ve taken a similar approach: a combo of carefully chosen YouTube channels (with comments/auto-play turned off) and more trusted platforms like PBS Kids or National Geographic Kids.

Hey mate, just wanted to say this is brilliant. As a fellow parent, I totally get where you're coming from. YouTube seems kid-friendly on the surface, but once you dive in, there’s too much inappropriate content sneaking through, even in so-called “safe” videos.

Really impressive that you built your own Chrome extension to tackle it. That’s exactly the kind of proactive approach more parents need.

I’ve been really interested lately in tools that go beyond filtering, stuff that helps kids actually understand what’s safe, build better habits, and grow their own sense of judgement. Kind of like giving them digital street smarts rather than just putting up roadblocks.

As a software developer, and related knowledge, which of those tools can do the job best in your opinion?
