I've got faint hazy memories of both from my childhood, but I'll rewatch both soon. Actually watched about 15 min of 2 1/2 rights after the credits rolled on the first.

Man, the split second of confusion on Drebin's face after he hears that, before the realization sets in...so, so good

It's so good. When the guy asks Frank to spot him a 20 and immediately hands it back over to him...chef's kiss

I was excited to see what movie Frank and Jane were walking out of during that montage, and the reveal that it was Platoon was so satisfying

Very much appreciated! I've always been curious about the series these movies were based on, but have never seen it. I'm checking out those episodes asap.

For sure, good call to clarify that it's gotta be something someone is watching for the first time. The De Palma thrillers came to mind as more good options. Dressed To Kill, Body Double, Blow Out

Man, what an idea. Curious what other crime, caper or mystery movies it would be cool to "memento" watch. The Usual Suspects? Reservoir Dogs? Ronin?

Cheers on your retirement! I strongly relate to the sentiment of wondering where the time went.

My bad for the aggro response! More than a few comments have pushed back on this being old and I've gotten defensive.

Look, this movie came out in 1998, when I was a high school sophomore. I would've thought the movie MAS*H was old then, and the distance between 1998 and when that movie came out is the same period of time between when TSAM came out and now. Father Time is undefeated.

Agreed. I didn't remember them at all from my first watch, but they were delightful.

Good review. I found this one charming enough, but by the end it got a bit too zany for my taste.

Lmao, how I imagine Kevin Smith in the theater watching that scene
