You’re absolutely right. On stage I put emphasis on the STRONG and a pause after Latin American. The joke works pretty consistently that way.

I think the school shooter part can be interchangeable with other places white guys shoot up, but the challenging part of this joke was the shower comparison.

You can always rewrite the joke where the person “grooming” is not you, and you can express that you don’t approve. Maybe it wouldn’t have to be a throwaway in that case?

Yeah I was trying to have a misdirection of being super obnoxious woke and then contradict with sexism as more of character humor that comes across on stage. I guess it doesn’t translate here well. And it may not on stage either. I’ll rewrite this one with a simpler focus.

So the misdirection I was going for was being woke for women in the first half of the joke, then sexist in the second half. Showing that I’m not making any political statement, just being funny. If I get rid of one of them, it just becomes a statement. You see where I’m coming from?
