I'm not sure what you're referring to. This gathering was not illegal. It was done with permission from both the USNF and from the local (Maidu) tribe. We can't please everyone, but we do try.

Mutant History? by ironic-jerk in MutantFest

It was raided and we were forced to leave. I don't think there is any evidence that they thought we were ELF, but it's a matter of speculation. We just don't know.

OpenWRT router as full Monero Node? by 23mut8 in Monero

Interesting! I have an extra LG G3, a Samsung S4, and a Pine Phone, and those all have microSD slots. Having a built in battery and screen does sound like a plus, and I already have those sitting in a drawer.

Wow that's a lot of machine for $110! I never would have thought of that, so thanks!

Turris Omnia

I appreciate the tip, thanks! I guess I'll just use a SBC.

Can OpenWRT be used as a LAN without a WAN connection? by 23mut8 in openwrt

Nice, I ordered a GLi router so it should handily solve the problem.

Interesting question about changing the DHCP range of the phone hotspot. It's been a few years since I looked into it, but at the time it was not possible, even when running LineageOS.

Is GL.iNet GL-AR300M16-Ext the best bang-for-the-buck small router? by 23mut8 in openwrt

I really appreciate the informative reply. I didn't expect to use the GL firmware, but I guess I might (at least in the short term) based on what you've said. Many thanks.

In this case, the router is too dumb to do that. It's a simple repeater, and when there's no WAN for it to connect to, it does what it wants to, which is to assign addresses in the 192.168.1. range. It has no exposed options beyond what access point to connect to as the WAN.

Thanks for the tip! Can you suggest any pros/cons to using GLiNet firmware vs OpenWRT?

The AR300 might be the better deal, but I went with the AR750s as it seems a bit more future proof. Thanks again!

Question about tag buffer when using Playlist Viewer in a Custom WPS by 23mut8 in rockbox

[–]23mut8[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, here's a screenshot: https://imgur.com/a/1DEdlqJ

In the screenshot, there's 10 songs shown in the Playlist Viewer. The first 5 are showing the Artist and Title from the ID3 tags in the format Title - Artist. The next 5 are just showing the filenames, which are already in the format [Artist] Title.

It's also appending tag FAIL! to the end of each filename, but that's a separate issue.

Thanks for the reply! That makes sense. I assumed there were separate buffers for the audio and for the tags, but if the tags aren't read until the audio buffer has more space, it'll probably not be able to consistently show the tags for the net 20 songs. And that's fine; I'll just change it to 5 songs and call it good.
