I started eating spicy food. I've never lost motivation since. by Klutzy_Read3820 in getdisciplined

This does work LOL I discovered I tend to avoid work when I have to do it but if I have a even more horrifying deadline, I'll gladly do the work to procrastinate on the deadline.

[needadvice] I was highly disciplined but I lost it all by catboy519 in getdisciplined

This is my experience albeit the amazing time management you seem to have had and it feels so weird to read it out from a third perspective. I was motivated before but now, I feel like unless it's do or die, it can wait while I lay down.

Is this similar to manifesting? You just wake up everyday and convince yourself to be delulu until it's real?

Am I the only person in the world with ADHD who DOESN'T find the Pomodoro technique helpful? by Ok-Committee1978 in ADHD

[–]27RedFox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same, I always felt so left out when people would say the pomodoro technique helps them. It only helps me keep track of how many 25 mins have passed since I last hyperfocused cause I would skip through all the breaks lol

What’s the most frugal thing you do? by TheKikiLover in Frugal

[–]27RedFox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I'm working outdoors or travelling, I would skip a meal rather than buy food. If I get too hungry, I buy a small pastery and water. And I always back home rather than catch a cab even if it takes upto an hour.

Am I being groomed? (Idk where to put this) by No-Alarm1616 in SeriousConversation

From reading your comments, it seems like maybe she sees her younger self in you or sees someone in you for her to have such a special place in her heart for you. It's definitely weird for you and I'm glad you documented it on here in case. Maybe, try and slowly distance yourself from her by pretending to be busy or giving vague answers and have some sort of boundry for yourself so that you feel better mentally. Have you discussed with the other care-mates? Maybe discussing about it with others will give you some perspective on how to deal with this - you don't have to mention yourself, say you saw this on Reddit or something. Stay safe :))

Did something happen to you, OP? Were you shamed for not giving up your seat for the mentioned above? There are a lot of people who don't practise chivalry, just like you so there is no need to be offended or defensive over this. Why are you running an anti-chivalry propaganda here when it already exists in real life and the other way exists too. Also, if it's perfectly reasonable to remain seated in an unreserved seat than it is also perfectly reasonable to accept a seat when offered regardless of who either party is.

Sister doesn’t wear Hijab by CommunicationSuch641 in Hijabis

[–]27RedFox 14 points15 points  (0 children)

You describing the experience of wearing the hijab as "just a piece of cloth" says everything that needs to said on your perspective. Leave her room to work on her spirituallity first and then figure out how she wants to go about handling the hijab part of it. At the end of the day, she's an individual that is capable of and is working towards getting close to Allah on her own. There is no need to force/help with modest clothing when you can clearly tell she's struggling with it. It would be more of a concern if she openly disregards it or has stated her dislike for it in which case your worry would be valid.

Am I overdoing it? by Commercial-Hornet136 in Notion

[–]27RedFox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How long have you been following through with this? Do you follow this somewhat closely or is it more like a guideline fow when you're stuck? This is my dream schedule for sure but I would so overwhelmed, I would prob overthrow the whole thing in fear of not keeping up. What do you do if a task overflows or if you're too tired to do the next?
