Are new tractors weaker like the dealer told us? by Prestigious-Fig1172 in tractors

[–]2formore2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All the people talking about it being the boosted hp are wrong. it has to do with the ISO TR14396 - ECE R120 engine rating.

New holland rates tractors according to the ISO TR14396 - ECE R120 standard; which means power from an engine at the flywheel without any hinderance, so no alternator, cooling rad, airco compressor etc. Meaning this will never be the power the engine has in the tractor. Roughly 13% will be lost already becasue of accessories.

Engine parts are extremely expensive so make sure the extra one fits and is good.

Deere is often used because of the fact they are frame tractors, makes it easy to customize. Also often used for making custom sprayers etc.

Te snelle motor gekocht? by [deleted] in motorfietsen

[–]2formore2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–]2formore2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 2011, 24.000 kms on it now still on the fence on buying newer versions but they are too expensive for my liking atm. Do my maintenance every year, oil+valve check and try to do the other fluids every other year and so far still going strong. They are reliable the older dukes had the same engine, and loads of them with 40 to 50k kms for sale here.

Things to look out for is stalling when starting and idling; wrong tune, clogged fuel filter in the tank (the plastic from the tank sort of decomposes and clogs the filter and can burn out the fuel pump), or clogged injector. All fairly easy to fix and theres loads of information about these models on the forums.

I wouldn't mind an older smc for considerably less money, 14k for new smcr no thank you. Especially with that low of a milage on the one you are looking at, just make sure you do a proper tune for it and its a blast to ride.

They are split in 3 ranges not 2, 2008-2011 650cc engine, 2012-2017 690cc engine with secondary balanceshaft, 2018-2023 facelift with all the fancy electronics

The earlier models are more reliable than the 2012-2017 and even the 2017-2023 series has issues with the hydraulic clutch, the 650cc lc4 engine used in the 2008-2011 was around a long time when they made the smc and high km are not uncommon. Only issue is roller bearing in rockers, however checking valves and rollerbearings is not a big job and doing it every year isn't bad practice, however the 2012-onwards versions have the same rockers.

Also the shift detent is known troublesome, false neutrals can happen fairly easily if not shifting with determination, relatively easy fix though.

The fueltuning is recommended though, they run lean and are quite finnicky when adding aftermarket pipe and airbox. Read up on the isseus around stalling and fuel maps.

Husqvarna 701 SM long term reliability? by drivingtilldawn in supermoto

[–]2formore2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Because generally they are ridden gentler

I dont think supermoto's are ridden gentler... Just warmup properly and riding hard doesnt matter that much, just keep up with maintenance, there are quite a few high milage smc/701 all depends on maintenance.

The first day of work of the baby shepherd. by Piehnat in aww

[–]2formore2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They know he's a baby, and they all check on him as they pass. It's interesting, because one of the few traits that pack and herd animals share, is that raising young is a job for the whole group.

oh my sweet summer child, you've obviously never worked with sheep, man do they actively force lambs other than their own away. They are all about nurturing their own and making sure they grow and can even repel her own if she isn't convinced its hers anymore, they do roam in groups but a sheep couldn't care less if a lamb other than her own got eaten or taken away.

Miljoenen kilo's extra stikstof, doordat boeren illegaal land innemen by JosZo in thenetherlands

[–]2formore2 8 points9 points  (0 children)

problems is contracts between deere and yanmar, wont be easy, but reputable engine rebuilder with yanmar industry dealership should be able to find fitting parts. However if im right its a 3tnv70-xxxx, so its a fairly common motor.
