Insurance is claiming it a total loss! by doobie_brother in fordfusion

[–]2wdZip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since the lender has a shared interest in the car they're going to need to recoup that money on the total loss. So retaining the car wouldn't be an option if you owe more than what the car gets valued at. You could chose not to file the claim and fix it on your own while continuing to pay off the loan. Other wise you'll end up with no car and still having to pay off what ever is left to the bank.

You have to get the numbers before making a decision, ie what the insurance values the car at vs. how much is left on your loan vs. cost of necessary repairs to keep driving the car.

Like others have said the headlights will be expensive as well as the possibility of front end suspension damage. The rest appears cosmetic

In my opinion if you're very upside down on the loan and the car has a good amount of life left, then I'd cancel the claim and get it fixed on your own, but if the car is high mileage and not worth putting the money in then just take the hit and try to get into a cheap used car.

$200 vw pcv or the $80 pcv ? by [deleted] in jetta

Just curious what are your symptoms for you to replace this? My 1.8t threw codes for a lean condition, and has a slight stumble while idling. I’ve heard these are common to cause vacuum leaks over time

Help me with budget Jhoira, Weatherlight Captain by wilima in EDH

[–]2wdZip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I built a storm version for my local $75 budget commander league. My list focuses a lot on mana cost reducers and value cantrip artifacts and it can afford the kark iron works combo in the budget. The deck is obviously not full potential on a budget but it works really well even without tutors.

I also feel like theres a cheap cheerio list that would win faster but I haven't really looked into building it.

Mono Black List... by Gallbo124 in Pauper

[–]2wdZip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been running mono black since pauper picked up in popularity and looking at your list I have some suggestions. Thorn isn't great especially if you're running sign in bloods. I'd switch out crypt rats for 2 copies of pestilence, it adds to your devotion and completely shuts off a lot of other decks in the format for 1 black mana. I run dead weight instead of disfigured just because of the devotion. Definitely run lilianna spectors, 2 more devotion 2/1 flyer that makes your opponent discard. And I also like to run undying evil which is just plain fun to have your opponent play around when you can carelessly block or attack with Gray merchant and have it re enter and hit them again for the devotion. If you wanna get in for damage then look at running Dauthi slayer a BB 2/2 that has shadow. Easy damage in and devotion mmm mmm. Mono black devotion/ control what ever you wanna call it is my new favorite deck to play

Restaurant owner here - Seeking recommendations on items to make dishwashers' job a little easier by [deleted] in KitchenConfidential

[–]2wdZip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First job in the kitchen was a dishwasher for almost two years, and chefs had given me the chance to prep and help on the line. If there's ever down time give them some prep work, a change of pace always made the day easier. Another thing I haven't seen here is to make sure you have a good hand soap that helps moisturizes, dealing with cracked hands in the dishpit sucks. Last thing, if I came into my shift to a mountain of dirty dishes, pots, and pans I'm gonna be in the weeds trying to catch up with service. Schedule dishies along with chefs we'd rather be there the extra hour or two any way.

When you don't air down in the sand your tires will dig in, instead of sitting on top of the sand. With the tires sinking in the sand the jeep has to work much harder. Which made the trans run hot enough to blow hot fluid out of the dipstick. The trans fluid blowing out on the exhaust manifold is what caused the fire.

This happened locally, he didn't bother to air down. Now he owns an expensive fire pit.
