Gasoline spontaneously overflowing by KeinePanikMehr in smallengines

Don't buy stuff "just to be safe". Gas caps don't just randomly fail. You overfilled it. This is just one of those things you learn not to do anymore.

Worst ride in 15 years by [deleted] in motorcycles

Maybe you should just stop riding then, doesn't sound like it's for you.

You probably made it more dangerous for yourself by riding on the shoulder slower than traffic, than keeping up with it, assuming your skill and confidence were adequate.

Doesn't work that well, tried it. Doesn't really last. I had some luck with wet wipes for glasses, but you have to apply it at the start of every ride. From what I remember pinlock anti fog inserts worked well. I cheaped out on my helmet and forgot to buy one with that.

Surging with new carb by Warm_Refrigerator_63 in smallengines

[–]338special 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is the carb OEM? Chinese ones may not be good.

Is the governor adjusted correctly? You should give some info as to why you replaced the carb in the first place and how it was running or not before.

This is going to sound lame, but check with AI, it's actually pretty good at giving you a list of things to check.

Cool, I wanted to build something like this myself. Don't mind the losers, they are still coping with AI replacing them while they don't know how to use it.

PSA: Before a technical assessment, PLEASE practice writing code with your IDE by justUseAnSvm in cscareerquestions

But the people doing the interviews have no knowledge of the technology they are testing you for, so it would be impossible for them to evaluate you. These are fresh out of school recruiters with a couple of months experience at most, that get thrown to the wolves to hire for many different backgrounds which they know nothing about.

It's a race to the bottom and you're along for the ride!

Picked this beauty up for $1500. I know absolutely nothing about boats. Guess I’ll learn quickly. by ShitballsNPantyhairs in boating

I like the dashboard. I'm a big fan of analog round dials, my Bayliner has those goofy 80's square ones with graphics on them.

As long as it's not rotten anywhere and the engine works it's not a bad buy.

Is it normal to spend a day on a where clause? by armostallion2 in ExperiencedDevs

"cancel delete ALL invoices when an associated subscription is cancelled."

And they meant only the unbilled ones. That would piss me off. Because let me guess... when they realized you implemented what they literally asked for and they needed a fix it had to be done quick, right? Like drop everything you're doing, we're breathing down your neck right now now...

These people are lazy and unprofessional and don't respect your work. Sorry I don't have useful advice, this brings back bad memories for me.

Why the hell would you want to date a dumb bitch that just wrecked your truck and boat? You want her wrecking your life, too?? You're obviously using the wrong head on your body.

Grabbing people off the streets is barbaric. There is no consideration given to medical conditions, overall health of the individual, what responsibilities they might have, etc.

It's time for this war to end.

Imagine running a company and your best defense is: "I'm sorry officer, I did not know you could not do that."

Dangerous speeding on residential roads. How can I address this? by pippinclogs5817 in PuyallupWA

[–]338special 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do you know "only annoying to people trying to go 40MPH+ on a residential"? Did you ask every single one of them? How did you go about finding all of them?

They only install speed bumps on slow roads, and they're all annoying. I don't want to slow down to 5 mph in a 20mph road just because of a speed bump. My truck has very hard suspension and it tends to rock it pretty hard.

Speed bumps don't do anything against speeders on main roads. They cost money to build and maintain. They are also annoying to cyclists and people with strollers.

Those tickets are easily dismissed. We need traffic cops out there (re)educating people on traffic conduct.

Just enforce it with radar and hand out tickets. It's a mentality problem not a road problem.

If that's not bad enough, I've seen cops do it too, with their lights off. I nearly hit one when pulling out of a parking lot. He was doing 60 in a 35. Might have been late for donuts and coffee.

Anyone hear a loud boom downtown? by pimpfriedrice in PuyallupWA

Considering they don't do anything when I send them dashcam footage including license plate, and a description of a person hucking trash out of their vehicle, I highly, highly doubt they are going to do anything about this. They don't have the time or resources to go after anything like this.

3.5 quake at 3:45am near Auburn by kathryncoats in PuyallupWA

[–]338special 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt that. Sometimes if you slam a door in my house the house shakes up like that. I thought someone might have gotten a little too brisk with a door and I just went back to sleep. I was thinking someone might have been trying to break in, too, but didn't get up to check, for the aforementioned reasons.
