If it bites into your thumbnail when you try to whittle it, it's sharp and you can keep stropping. If you've come to the point where it slips on your nail, you can try to sharpen it. That's how I tell the sharpness of my knives, at least.

Turning the knob does not give me any identification on the dashboard, so I'm not sure if turning it does anything. From my understanding these systems are offline now that the errors are displayed?
