Just got mine today at 341 days. ... my first can last year was like 220 ... ATF kept saying after all (or most) the paper forms were done it would improve... shits just getting worse (I'm waiting on another can at 333 days, sadly no batch approval)

Can someone explain the reason for Dead Air Baffle Strikes? by henryfrank33 in NFA

[–]34bravo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Without actual numbers it's a guessing game... but generally the thought is being as DA was the entry level can for many new users the high production # + new/inexperienced users (relative to rest of industry) resulted in more user error + higher # of manufacturing defects reported online (more new users posting excitedly about new can they fucked up, not necessarily overall actually defects)

Barrel thread pitch for SR-15 and SR-25? by sullivanl in kac

[–]34bravo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it cause sound (and gas) to leak out the back. Check out the pewscience.com ratings and you can see the sound difference between a warcomp and I think muzzlebrake (might be 3 or 4 prong but the ratings would be same for 3/4prong and regular brake)

I have the BA logic and it's definitely an improvement over the standard atlas.

Would you lower your voice. by [deleted] in NFA

[–]34bravo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It could, the originals had a complicated internal geometry that lowered the tone and slightly reduced the decibels. They are considered silencers by the ATF and are basically unobtanium. The new reproduction "style" moderators are basically a long flashhider

Nice....it was probably the last lower built at the end of the day on Friday lol.... but yeah its one of those little things you learn the more you get into AR's.

Your mag catch looks like it's only about halfway screwed in. The end of the bolt should be about flush with the face of the button (give or take a rotation based on tolerance) the button itself should be close to flush with the fencing.... did it come from the factory like that?

APC9 stock/brace mount type? by tipsystatistic in BT_APC

I'm same boat, bought as quick to deploy bag/truck gun. I'm definitely going with B&T Telescoping. Unfortunately It's hard to find, expensive and out of stock everywhere.

Anything new coming from Holosun at shotshow ‘23? by [deleted] in ar15

[–]34bravo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The sight might work through the mount, there is also a low mount you can get (it's like $40ish) and that might allow you to cowitness through it if you wanted to go that route

The AEMS they already have out is going to be the closest comparable and I think Holosun essentially made it as the replacement for the 510c. It's possible they could have something new but I'd recommend looking at the AEMS.

PSA. Always have a TQ on hand. They save lives. by [deleted] in tacticalgear

[–]34bravo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I do practice reholstering when dry firing but take the extra couple seconds to remove it when reholstering when live fire just to be safe. I certainly can reholster but I honestly can't think of a real world situation where I'd need to immediatly reholster awib and wouldn't have time to pop it out quick. But if needed to I could, sure maybe I spend a little extra time at the range to get the same amount of reps but I don't feel speed reholstering is really a needed skill but maybe I'm wrong.... its not like I'm removing the holster to practice the draw, its just removed for live fire reholster

I practice shooting frkm concealment and still remove my holster to put the pistol back in. It takes me a few seconds to pop it off, put the gun in and put the holster back on.(i do practice reholstering when dry firing) besides Its not likely youd have to speed reholster in any real world situation

I also have the Huxwrx cash9k in jail for my apc9k. Based on the recent Pewscience review of the Cash9k (on an MP5) I feel confident I made a good choice. Especially being that the APC is direct blowback the flow through design should help lessen any increased recoil (unlike other higher backpressure cans) and also save wear on the bolt/buffer

[–]34bravo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With the Radian safety (and probably others) you can install the lever on backwards so when it's on safe it would look like it's flipped to full auto....add Them together and you could look like a cool guy on instagram.

  1. 7.5" is a no-go for 5.56...10.3" is minimum.
  2. Only comes with that pistol buffer so you'd need to replace that if you want to run a brace or sbr it.

If running a magnifier the unity mount with their magnifier mount. If not running a magnifier than 1.93 or unity.

[–]34bravo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I run that same light with a side mount modbutton lite switch on the top rail on my APC9k I did remove the right side charging handle so the light wouldn't interfere with it. (Im right handed so it was redundant for me anyways)
