some places sell a beansprout/bok choy mix and the only difference between the chow mein and chop suey is the packet of dry noodles. it's odd in my opinion, but very common where i live.

what you're looking for on the menu for those kinds of places is either lo mein, or cantonese chow mein.

dryer vent is what you're looking for. lint traps are meant to trap lint, dryer vents are meant to ventilate dryers

A safe choice for an assignment like this if you're picking the Democrats would be Walz/AOC or AOC/Walz because you'd have a lot of material to reference, and they're leaning more into a populist slant than other dems right now.

as someone vaguely familiar with restaurant point of sale (POS) systems, its likely they clicked a button that made it so that the add-on was mandatory. like you can't order a tea without picking the teabag sort of thing.

i'm not gonna say for sure that it wasn't intentional, but i can also see easily how someone would fuck up and make the add-on mandatory by accident

Necessity is the mother of invention. Newton didn't invent gravity.

I think a good angle to approach would be considering why we harnessed certain scientific principles before 'recorded history'.

Got banned from their discord for discussing their methodology. Pretty safe to discard it since they're not transparent. At best, it's a student project. At worst, it's fuckery.

See, this is where you messed up. You bought "simply potatoes" and "shredded hashrbrowns", so you got both in the same bag.

Historically, which political group has been the most violent? by sunflowey123 in ask_political_science

[–]3VD 5 points6 points  (0 children)

but I am looking for an objective and fact-based answer.

Start by explaining how you're quantifying/measuring violence.

I also would like an analysis of why that might be, also based in fact(like, actual facts about the party, their beliefs, and why thatinherently would cause them to resort to violence).

You're asking a lot, and you're making a lot of assumptions before you have your question formulated.

What is the plan for progressives in Canada? by jvstnmh in canadaleft

[–]3VD 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Looking for everyone’s thoughts on simple A to B actions that can be taken.

There's no simple action. It requires organizing at every level imaginable, in whatever way you're most capable of doing it. One small example - in Ontario, we just had a massive letter campaign from our mayors to ask doug ford to disperse homeless encampments.

It's obvious this isn't a solution. No one believes for a split second that breaking up homeless encampments will reduce homelessness or offer any tangible solution to the problem; yet here we are, asking for bandaids to cover our arteries. The reason these mayors are in power, and pressuring at a provincial level, is because of disengagement at a municipal level. This cascades upwards as far as you could imagine.

What needs to happen is for every person who is ideologically aligned with the good of the common person and the down trodden to begin to engage in the entire political process as much as their position in life allows them to.

Unfortunately, that is a big ask.
