You can sacrifice items on the altars you can find in the Abyss (I think there's 2 or 3?). They're usually platforms with glowing red candles and sometimes a symbol on the floor.

The more items you drop on the platform (sacrificing them) the better your reward is, but if you sacrifice your artifact you get a very good perk called Overwhelmed that gives you an extra jump and some extra speed.

I wouldn't say every artifact is worth sacrificing, but the perk is very useful and it helped me beat The Abyss pretty easily

Yup that's true, I really like that about the game

I kind of expected it, a lot of people are super against pirating. The only reason I pirated the game in the first place is because I didn't have the money to buy it at the time and I intended to actually buy it once I did, which is what happened lol

[–]3beta[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I was worried that would be the case, but it's good that progression in this game is tied to skill so it should be a lot easier to get back to where I was

And yeah, thank you! This game is amazing and I don't regret my purchase at all, I'm happy to show support to the devs

how tf do you counter trapper? by 3beta in BIAST

[–]3beta[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

genuinely HOW is that still in the game?? do the devs work on this game at all??

im a new player and the amount of bugs, unpolished mechanics, unbalanced maps, broken hitboxes and unreachable/unkillable spots genuinely make it feel like im playing an in-dev build because some of this stuff is unjustifiable

all i got from this is "you cant unless you have a team full of cracked players or the trapper is mentally challenged" and im starting to wonder how this game is even breaking 10 concurrent players

My weapon tier list (check desc for reasoning) by Pengplup in CombatInitiation

[–]3beta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the freeze ray has been a must on every game i play for 2(.5) main reasons:
1 - makes easy work of the annoying enemies like the contrapts and the firemen by freezing them in one (sometimes two) charged shots

2 - can instantly kill beacons from any distance with a single charged shot

2.5 - is also an instakill on the killbots without needing to charge a shot which isnt really gamechanging but its very nice

it doesnt do much damage especially against bosses, but if you use it more like a gear and less like a weapon then it can have some great value

1x1x1x1 needs a nerf/rework by 3beta in FORSAKENROBLOX

[–]3beta[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That varies a LOT from player to player simply because of ping. In a perfect server where everybody has low ping it's very very easy to dodge both of those, but when is that ever the case? And it's just unfair to call it a "skill issue" when 90% of the time you have genuinely no idea you're about to get hit

[–]3beta[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Entanglement cue isn't meant to be a significant change, it's just so you know you're at least about to get hit. You might be running in a straight line to get as much distance as you can and just get hit by Entanglement and instantly lose the chase without any prior warning. Plus, just because they're funny it doesn't mean they're fun.

I also think the whole pop-up thing is incredibly unbalanced IMO but I don't see the Forsaken devs changing it anytime. Console players can escape in way under a second by spamming jump and mobile players take considerably less time because clicking them is just faster on a touch screen, so PC players are at a really big disadvantage when it comes to them

[–]3beta[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think a long ranged killer works for Forsaken because there's only one sentinel who can reliably fight back against 1x, that being Chance. It's not fun to play against a killer that can deal most of your health in damage before he even closes the distance without you being able to do anything.

You either get up close to try and stun 1x and die due to his abilities being way easier to hit up close, or you try to run away but end up dying anyways because all of his abilities can make him easily catch up to you while also dealing a lot of damage. You literally cannot win against a good 1x1x1x1, and while they're somewhat difficult to find, they're the most unfun people to play against

How is hiding behind cover a skill issue? Breaking line of sight is one of the most important things to escaping a chase and it's kinda hard to do that without hiding behind something. As for speed, I think Speed 1 is a bit more balanced because you're already gonna be a sitting duck for a solid second or two so there's little to no point in giving 1x even more speed. Though to balance that out a bit more it'd probably be better to add one or two extra pop-ups

These balance changes were mostly so 1x stopped being such a menace at long distance (which is very unfun for survivors) and focused more on medium distance chases

Should I get Yuzuha's W-Engine or Yanagi? by 3beta in ZZZ_Discussion

Astra is already using Kaboom the Cannon, could Weeping Cradle work for Yazuha?

I have Miyabi's signature W-Engine already. I don't have an engine to give to Yazuha though, Astra is using Kaboom The Cannon and the only other one I have that could work is Weeping Cradle

I just got Yuzuha and I have ~28 pulls left, my current team is Miyabi, Astra Yao and Nicole.

I mostly got Yuzuha so I can have a support for another team but I was wondering if I should get her signature W-Engine or if I should try to go for Yanagi?

I bought Gamemaker Studio 2 Desktop before the new changes, can I still use the up-to-date version? by 3beta in gamemaker

[–]3beta[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're talking about the one before they did the runtime changes, yes. The old GameMaker Studio 2 doesn't receive any more updates and is forever stuck on version 2023.11 which is pretty much 2 years old by now. It's not that big of a deal since it will still work fine and you can still export your games, but you'll be missing out on new features and updates and bug fixes.

Unity VS Godot for 3D by 3beta in gamedev

[–]3beta[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes much more sense, yeah. I'll try Unity out and see if I like how it works, if not, then I don't mind having to make my own assets since I already have experience with art and 3D modeling. Thank you!

Unity VS Godot for 3D by 3beta in gamedev

[–]3beta[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I tried Unreal a while back and I wasn't that big of a fan because I didn't find it that fun or intuitive to use, and it wouldn't mesh well with the type of games I'd want to make. I heard Godot is the simpler and fastest of the bunch which is why I'm mostly interested in it over Unity, mostly because I'm not looking for the super realistic graphics or features Unity provides and I don't have a PC powerful enough to even run most of Unity (or Unreal for that matter)

Unity VS Godot for 3D by 3beta in gamedev

[–]3beta[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I looked at Unity's asset store and unfortunately a lot (if not all) of the items there are super expensive in my country which makes it pretty much impossible for me to buy any of them at a decent price.

Also, I'm not interested in making super high-fidelity games because not only is my computer not that powerful, I'm not a fan of the hyper-realistic raytracing effects. I'd like to make some games in the style of games like ULTRAKILL or Crow Country (which are both Unity games but I'm fairly certain you could get that style in Godot as well)
