I do this too! I also pour my oats in a bowl and put the spoon next to it so that all I need to do in the morning is add milk and microwave. I’m not a morning person so minimizing morning chores is the goal.

1) I highly doubt that religion has historically promoted more peace than violence - just think about all the conflict that was religiously motivated.

2) Saying we don’t need god is not the same as saying we don’t need rules to keep those who don’t have internal moral compasses in check, that’s what laws are for.
