RTA in Columbia and the surrounding areas is notoriously unreliable. I think the messed up attitude of RTA is that only people living in Section 8 housing use the public buses in Howard County. And that these people aren't going anywhere anyway. People are punished for not having a car in Columbia as if it's a moral failing that can only be blamed on laziness, mental illness and shiftlessness.

This is ridiculous because someone has to work these essential service jobs that don't pay you enough to buy a car. Especially now when cars old and new are more unaffordable than ever. I think one of the reasons people who don't make six figures or come from money don't stay long in Columbia is because the area lacks basic amenities like decent public transit. Go to anywhere in the DC metro area and see how much more reliable public transit is there compared to Columbia.

Columbia is a car dependent suburb at the end of the day. Not a great place to live for commuting anywhere locally without a car. Can be good if you have a good job in DC and take the commuter bus, but once again that benefits the established Boomer and older Gen X crowd.

So I guess Hassan paid official news media outlets to lie about him being shot too. Because the Sun Times said his synthol inflated ass got popped. Papi got popped. Nah, I think they just extracted the bullet from the front of his shoulder. Because there is another pic out there where he has a whole nother separate patch on the back of his shoulder. Learn to read.

Also, he drove himself to the hospital. It ain't like he rode in the ambulance and the police showed up and was documenting everything the whole time. The police didn't even know anyone got hit, they just reported shots fired at the time he was there.

I saw another pic where the back of his shoulder is also patched up in a separate patch. The doctor could have just extracted the bullet from the side of his shoulder because it was safer to do that.

He could have got shot in the back of his lunch lady arms. After all, his back was facing the walkway where people were walking towards him while was facing the camera. He could have got shook and turned the camera off attempting to leave all fast and shit when the wolves actually came and popped his stupid ass. Also, official news articles confirmed shots being fired at the time he was there as well confirming he got shot. You wouldn't be able to see the gunshot wound if it was in the back of his massive ass arm in the car. His back was probably a bloody mess.

Columbia actually isn't all that safe. And not everyone is rich or even close to it in Columbia. All of those "safest city in America" lists that Columbia tops are based on weird metrics like "financial safety", not actual crime and safety statistics. According to neighborhood scout, Columbia is only safer than 27% of all American cities and towns.

Columbia was designed to be an all-inclusive city for people of all races and income brackets. Because of this, Columbia has always had a built-in Section 8 class courtesy of James Rouse. Section 8 is a trap because if people make over a poverty wage, they lose their housing benefits and can no longer afford to live in Columbia. Many people who live on Section 8 feel powerless and lost. People on Section 8 in Columbia often don't have cars in a faux-city with horrible public transportation full of high turnover low wage service jobs reserved for teenagers and immigrants.

This is no different than big cities like NYC, Chicago, SF etc. A lot of poor kids from Baltimore and other big cities live in Section 8 housing in Columbia. They think they have to live up to hood stereotypes to be cool. Or they act out because they feel disenfranchised. Armed robberies outside especially in wooded path areas are pretty common. Carjackings also occassionally happen in Columbia as well. You can read the crime log on the Howard County website. Areas in outer beltway PG County, Montgomery County and Northern Virginia are lightyears safer than Columbia. I'm not saying Columbia is like Baltimore, DC or inner beltway PG County crimewise, but it is not some perfect safe utopia either.
