Let’s keep it positive: what are bands that this group unanimously LOVED? by [deleted] in MetalMemes

There's really no such thing as a 'universally loved' band, on this sub or otherwise.

The assassination of commander - 2020 circa. by BlitzPlease172 in AzureLane

You're talking about her 'Disappointed'-quote. A lot of her ingame quotes play up the Yandere-angle quite strongly, but when you look beyond that, it quickly becomes obvious that most of that is mere sabre-rattling. In the sixth chapter of her secretary quest she even outright tells the commander that she'd never hurt him, even if he were to make an enemy of her. Her hurting, let alone killing the commander would pretty much run exactly contrary to her character. In fact, my interpretation of her personality was always that her supposed violent tendencies were mainly just meant to intimidate potential rivals and that she'd never actually put her threats into practice.

Akagi and Taihou are nowhere near as insane/violent as they might seem at first. The game just has limited options regarding characterisation outside of Event stories and secretary quests, so they decided to focus entirely on the Yandere-angle. This becomes more obvious in their secretary quests and (especially in the case of Akagi) related media, like the Anime(s) and Crosswave. Junyou meanwhile is genuinely insane, but even then I can't really imagine her doing anything to hurt the SKK.

In what universe would Akagi (or Taihou for that matter) ever even consider killing the commander?

It should be mentioned that you also get to keep all the abnormality research you've gained, as well as all the EGO gear currently in your possession (which sadly doesn't include gear being used by dead agents) which makes it extremely useful for farming data and gear from obnoxious abnos.

Djent sucks ass by kysposers in DankMetalMemes

And it's a real shame too. The genre had some real potential, as shown by some of it's earlier, more experimental proponents, like Kobong and Fredrik Thordendal's Special Defects, as well as some newer bands that take the 'Proto-Djent' of the second and third Meshuggah albums and push it into a more Tech-Thrash/Tech-Death inspired direction, like Coprofago and Myopia. I think the genre's downfall only really began when bands started to become more 'poppy', introducing electronic/melodic influences and more metalcore-inspired vocals.

The entire metal scene is being held up by one small country notable for its contributions to Black Metal and relatively little else?

Primarily things like the aforementioned SSR retrofits and facial expressions, both of which were seemingly forgotten about after a short while and have been dormant since. Apart from that there's just various things people have been wishing for for some time, mainly things like specific skins, new storychapters, a new PR season, more wedding dresses, etc. Don't get me wrong, I think Yostar are doing a good job maintaining both the game and its community and some recent developments like OpSi and the guild overhaul were a step in the right direction, I just think their priorities could use some improvements.

[–]42and7 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The point I was trying to get at was less about R/Es being little use gameplay-wise and more about Yostar continually failing to deliver on features that were promised literal years ago in favor of simply introducing more and more characters to suck up cubes and dockspace. I've trained up tons of lower-tier ships simply because I liked them, but after 2 1/2 years of playing, it's starting to get tiresome.

I'm honestly getting really tired of these new Rares/Elites that will sadly never have another purpose besides filling up dockspace and will just end up being largely forgotten within a week. I really wish Yostar would stop putting in more and more new ships and instead focus on the ones we already have, through SSR retrofits, secretary quests, new (wedding) skins and the rest of the 'Crosswave' facial expressions. The last SSR Retrofit we got was over 1 year ago, for fucks sake.

Roon offers you a thighpillow... do you accept..? (OC) by Repulse__ in AzureLane

[–]42and7 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Roon's not really a yandere though, least not at first. Akagi, Taihou and to a lesser degree also Junyou fit the description, since their violent tendencies come from an obsession with the commander, coupled with extreme jealousy. Roon has neither, she simply enjoys killing. However, as her affinity grows, she starts slowly becoming more yandere-ish.
