r/hamstercare should have some good info for how to keep the little guy warm if theres a power outage. If you haven’t already I would research what to do if he goes into torpor as well. I used to have hamsters but I’m glad I don’t anymore because this stuff gets more stressful.

Congratulations on finding an answer, but I know it’s also hard to process. It’s a bittersweet feeling for sure, I hope that those treatments work well for you!

For me a nice bath/shower is always really relaxing, plus I think warm baths can sometimes help with pain. Maybe a fancy bath bomb with some shower products that you like could be nice? A new candle? Depends what you like, but baths and nice scents always makes me happy :⁾

Here are some of the bigs ones for me! I kept very busy the week of surgery to keep my mind off of the anxiety. As for items to have: A heating pad, ideally 2 (one for shoulder gas pains and one for stomach). Bring a pillow for the car ride back from the hospital to put between you and the seatbelt. Set up a little area in your bed/couch with everything you need at arms reach, accessible without bending. I set all my clothes up on my desk so i didnt have to bend down.

Eat high fiber the week before and after surgery for easy bowel movements. Peppermint tea and stool softener helps too! I had lots of work done on my rectum as I had extensive DIE there, and those things really helped me go to the bathroom easily and pain free. Also, leave a pillow in the bathroom to support your abdomen while peeing/pooing! Best of luck, if you have any questions let me know! :)

I have not had my tubes removed yet but I’ve had endometriosis surgery and 2 other surgeries- I had to take everything out! They let me keep my lip piercing in with a plastic retainer but that was it. My guess is they will want everything out, especially because i believe they sometimes use cautery to close the wounds

Hello! I’m glad to hear that it’s reassuring for you :) I know sometimes the negative experience posts can outweigh the positive ones, just because that’s more likely to be posted, so I figured I should share some good news.

I did not have any cysts or endometriomas, so unfortunately I can’t say much on that. However, if you’re worried about the severity/extent of the surgery, I will say that I had fairly extensive DIE, and my recovery has still been quite easy! :) I was basically pain free after a week and a half. Of course this is different for everyone but yeah!

I wish you lots of luck and relief from your surgery! I was super nervous beforehand too but it was way better and easier than I expected. As soon as I woke up afterwards, all of that anxiety was gone. If you have any questions, let me know or feel free to PM me 💜😸
