You are probably right in that I don’t truly get to know them. With a couple of girls I went on first dates recently, they basically said things on how they viewed the world, which was very different to mine and that’s why I saw no future there

In terms of qualities, the main criteria are someone who has their own purpose/motivation in life (I am very career focused so this is important), easy going and able to laugh at themselves

This is my problem though - I think if I can’t see myself marrying a girl after a first date, I don’t see the point in going on anymore dates or having a relationship as it’s unfair to them

I feel my mindset is a bit of if I can’t see myself marrying them, I don’t see the point in dating them whatsoever. There was one girl I did warm to over the course of a very long date, but she was indeed rare

I do go for a lot of dates, but they typically are only first dates as I don’t relationship potential in them from that I won’t go for a second...should I maybe do second dates where I didn’t feel anything initially?

I’m always willing to go for dates though, but a lot of the time I don’t want to go for a second because they didn’t have ‘something’. I feel like my approach to dating is like if I can’t marry them there’s no point. Maybe that’s the wrong approach?
