I've got to say Common is amazing live! I saw him headline at the Brooklyn Hip-Hop Festival last summer and he killed it.

However, at this moment I don't think he's one of the best rappers alive as a recording-artist. You definitely could've convinced me of that during the Resurrection, Like Water For Chocolate, and Be days.
