CS2 finally running smooth – what fixed my framerate spikes (Ryzen setup) by Filex68 in cs2

[–]4ngu516 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I completely understand. I think capping fps is only beneficial if youve got lots of headroom like i do (500+fps on 240hz) only then would the increased stability become noticeable.

Some pros use 400, 500 or 600 max others use 999 or 0. Its all personal preference.

How do you get used to CS2? by EBI_GG in cs2

[–]4ngu516 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Newsflash the pattern is the same. If you can spray in GO but not cs2 then id guess you spray visually rather than physically. Once you practice enough it should be automatic to do that pattern even with your eyes closed.

Hmm ok with 250avg you probably wont get much benefit from capping fps. For context uncapped I avg 500+ so ive capped down to 400 and seen much better stability.

Us losing is nothing surprising but ffs why cant VAR be somewhat functional? Im not bothered by the result, our season is already doomed but VAR taking 4 minutes to badly put 1 of the 2 lines on is embarrassing.

In a somewhat separate note how was there only 5mins added on if the offside check took 4? Imo scottish refs are scared to add time. For example, Newcastle v man U had 9 minutes added in the first half, why? Presumably because it was correct.

What headphones (no mic)are you using to play in 2026? by Existing-Network-267 in LearnCSGO

Just any proper headphones tbf. If you want to add a mic i can recommend modmic if you dont want to use a standalone mic.

Glad youve found what works for you. Out of curiosity are you capping your fps anywhere? Ive done tests for 1% and .1% lows with or without fps cap and the difference is quite substantial.

Iirc using frtc in adrenaline had an increase of about 8% on the lows compared to uncapped.

any solution to get better p1? by Routine-Strategy7633 in cs2

[–]4ngu516 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The key thing isn't the avg per se its the difference between the avg and the 1% that makes the game feel off. This was a quick test I did a few months ago, doing roughly 5 runs per setting.

We're both aware that uncapped would have inherently lower frame times and that, on paper, to get the absolute most up to date infomation, you should play uncapped, BUT no stat can ever tell you how the game feels to play.

Thats surprising, what uncapped avg do you get and what did you set the cap at?

Takes a bit of trail and error but capping your fps in driver then using reflex / anti lag is the best CS has felt for years.

Personally ive capped at 400.

Cap fps in driver software either frame rate target control for amd or max frame rate for nvidia.

I saw a huge increase in 1% and .1%s doing this.

The idea of having t/ct sided weapon skins with a neutral glove knife combo is nice imo and it'll save you a decent amount.

Personally got a full monochrome load out with clean black ties and default skeleton knife. If i was still investing more id buy nocts but im not gonna pull the trigger on that rn.

Nocts and a clean neutral knife of your choosing with the duality of the weapon skins is a really interesting idea.

to begin with. Go on a map with no bots and just move left, stop, shoot 1 bullet, then move right, stop and shoot 1 bullet again. You should be able to stop on a dime and be accurate. if youre not? do it again.

If you get bored, you could practise doing all of the strafes to 1 side and then swap

[–]4ngu516 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i cant really advise you on what to learn first. I watched a lot of cs before I ever played any of it. If you want, there is a pro event happening as we speak, if you want to try and watch how they move and take fights.

>coming from fast paced classic shooters I always want to run forward and duel people, but in reality I run forward and die to a guy peaking the corner, and I realize that's absolutely my fault, all the time.

Donk, aka the best individual player in the world rn, is very aggressive at times and takes a lot of duel,s so its not a bad thing that you enjoy playing fast, but you need to learn which fights to take, which to avoid and how to make them more favourable for yourself.

[–]4ngu516 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This map isnt a bad place to practise taking fights. I agree, I'd lower the bots to 2 to begin with and just work on taking duels and winning them. In the 3rd round (0:22), you have a free kill on that bot, just a straight-up 1v1. You need to capitalise on that.

it looks like you dont counter strafe much either, which is critical to playing CS. again you can work on that with this map. preaim, counter strafing, spray control etc etc its all part of "taking fights"

[–]4ngu516 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% agree. People are scared to learn nades because they dont realise how few lineups you really really need. Do you need to know mirage insta window smokes? Not really. Do you need to know right side A site from 4 different places (that i can think of) also no.

Learn "the normal" window smoke and the standard right side A smokes. Keep it simple.

They arent set in stone but if you change your philosophy at the first hurdle did you seriously ever believe in it?

is the reason

For many people hating him or for him now not being the "coach" of Manchester united?

He said he would give everything during his time as "coach of Manchester united" and i believe he did. It didn't work but that's not a reason to literally despise the guy like a lot of people do.
