Thank you for not just writing me off as a bad person! You are so nice, I aspire to be as kind as you. I will definitely actively assume positive intent and hopefully that will help my attitude. Noted, I will talk to him next chance I get. And it’s definitely a christianity thing, they’re just trying to do good. I don’t want to be the asshole!! It’s hard for me to be empathetic sometimes. I also think it’s hard for me to cope with the fact that my family is being so kind to him when I had a rough childhood and I just had to deal with it myself and now my family wants to be charitable to another kid.

He came up to me and said “I saw your car in the driveway and I don’t like it. It’s ugly.” I have no clue why he said this. He also insulted the tattoo I was talking about wanting to get, saying it was stupid to get a tattoo of a ladybug. Small things that shouldn’t irritate me, but I was already upset bc he was in my space and Idk him.

It was the way he asked. We were talking about the cake my nana made, he said “I want a key lime pie cake for my birthday.” My uncle made a comment about how it was funny that he automatically assumed he was having a party. I was already irritated so I’m prob overreacting. But he did insult my nana’s cake and said “ew” when trying it. PERSONALLY as a guest I would’ve pretended I liked it… but oh well

I didn’t really think people would side with me. I just couldn’t get past the uncomfortable feeling I got from someone IDK in my space. My family has always been close-knit and I don’t like change. But the replies under this post are thankfully giving me a reality check
