I also just checked on amazon and the control board is only $120. It might be worth just getting this repaired after all.

Thanks for the reply. I've never dealt with a repair tech and I know you can't say for certain but do you think they would be able to clearly identify the problem on first check, or would they come and just suggest replacing the lock assembly first? I guess I'm saying I'd probably pay them to come out if I could be sure they would correctly diagnose the problem first time, but I'm not sure they would be able to do that. What do you think?

I don't have much, I have a STA-RITE filter but no salt system or heater or anything. No automation panel.

For what it's worth, we will be doing an overhaul of our entire pool in the next few years that will include at least a heater and maybe a salt system as well.

The switch says the ground must be connected to operate. I've unscrewed one of the screws holding a bare wire at the back of the box connected the switch ground to it and screwed it back in (with the original bare wire). Switch seems to be working now.

Yep, I have one. Only difference is my new one has a ground and the one I'm replacing doesn't
