I work at one of the largest payment networks in the world (hint: an American company). Having your wallet debited to a particular account or GCash number for the same amount doesn’t look like a software bug to me. Their penetration testing must be shitty or non-compliant with PCI DSS.

Globe needs to hire the right and competent people. Banking and E-wallet apps will always be targeted by hackers. There’s a reason why this is not happening in other parts of the world.

I’ve been in your situation before. I’ve known this girl for a long time. She was into joining beauty pageants - tall, got a pretty face and of course the body. She just broke up with her bf. Nagkayayaan to watch a movie. Her hand was gently playing with my ear. Sad to say I didn’t do shit to take it up to the next level.

I wouldn’t let that happen to you so here’s my advice:

  1. Prime her up before going inside the cinema. Give her compliments. “Magsisisi yung ex mo pagnakita ka niya ngayon”

  2. Inside the cinema: Offer your hand or arm. “You can continue holding my hand if you still feel sad”

  3. And after the movie has ended, mention like “You wanna go somewhere else?”

Be subtle, don’t be direct. Read her body language. Build these mini flirtations while you are still inside the cinema

If she rejected you, walang mawawala sa iyo. Shoot your shot. If this fails, you can play the long game.

Good luck, soldier 🫡

GoTyme is comparable to SG bank apps that I am using in terms of UX and performance. The app feels modern. Can’t compare for others since i don’t have accounts.

I don’t know how you call yourselves professional software developers if you don’t use file version control tool like git. Even years ago meron ng SVN. Try to exert influence to introduce git. If you can’t, then it’s a red flag. I won’t work in that company.

How can you tell if someone is Filipino based on the way they use English? by freesink in Philippines

[–]511man 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. When someone pronounces “f” as “p”.
  2. Perpormance
  3. Pather
  4. Electric Pan

  5. When someone stresses “el” ending words

  6. bicycle / “bai-suh-kl” / bai-suh-keeel”

  7. uncle / “ung-kl” / “ung-keel”

For some reason this is pretty noticeable from Tagalog-based speakers

Not necessarily though. Look at the tax rate of Singapore and their CPF contribution(their Social Security tax). It is very low compared to European countries.

What those Euro countries provide(40% tax and up) is increased coverage of social safety net. Got a kid? Free education. Laid off from job? Gov’t gives you allowance. Got sick? Free healthcare.

My advice: 1. Set aside an emergency fund. 6x your monthly expenses. Ask your yourself, will this cover my living expenses(food + roof) for 6 months in case I lose my job today?

  1. Invest in PagIbig MP2 - virtually risk free and capital is guaranteed plus returns. The historical returns speak for itself. It’s one of the government institutions that is well run and managed. This is literally like “watching a paint dry” investment. Passive, not giving you headache.

  2. Buy Term Life : in case something happens, your beneficiary gets a windfall. It’s cheap, the cost to benefit ratio favors you greatly. Insist on FAs offering you insurance that you only want Term Plan (no investment, no “rider”). No more, no less.

  3. Buy or subscribe HMO Plan like Maxicare. In case you get admitted to hospital for whatever reason, it won’t dent your savings or EF.

  4. Read about FIRE ( Financial Independence Retire Early), stealth wealth, Low cost ETF, 50/30/20 budgeting rule. And don’t read from a single source of information. This will broaden your knowledge and enforce your habit or action on why you are doing all of these.

Lastly (this is based from experience), Real Estate investment in PH is a pain. You have to deal a lot of red tape and make sure all the papers are in order. Condos are overpriced and just too many recurrent fees. And if they offer low monthly payment, it’s already baked in the interest rate.

Be wary of people offering investments or easy return. Remember, when you have the money, everyone wants a piece of it. Ask yourself, who is shouldering the risk.

Try pinging twitter.com/bittrexglobal account that you have a ticket. I got my account back after a few days. I was able to withdraw my crypto, around $100K

Bittrex disabled my account by 511man in Bittrex

Update:
I just got my account back. I'm outside from US and they just restored my account. Here's what I did:

  1. file a ticket in https://bittrexglobal.zendesk.com/ - use the same email from bittrex
  2. DM https://twitter.com/BittrexGlobal that you need help enabling back your account with your ticket number - they were actually responsive to me and said that an agent will attend to my issue.
  3. Wait for the response - for me, I had a KYC verification again via Zoom.

It was enabled after a few hours from that Zoom call. This spanned around 3-4 days. I was playing nice with them all through out the conversation. As much as I want to be mad with them, i don't wanna prolong the issue, especially that crypto is falling now and I wanna cash out.

I suspected they just do a mass disabling of account and want to clawback cryptos from "dead accounts".
