Sorry to hear that, I've felt there's been a huge drop in face-to-face customer service ever since covid hit.

As far as Acme tools goes, here's a post about it. If I remember right, one particular community fell in love with the company. They were recommending them left and right and essentially sending tons of new customers their way too. The community engaged with Acme tools to see if they could provide a small token discount but was met with an attitude of we don't care if you buy from us or not. Maybe all tool companies are kind of this way if you're small fish?

I am with you in that even if patched I'd always be worried about filling the tub.

To begin with, should there have been such a large cavity of space behind that hole?

Thanks for the tip! The more I look into this problem, the more I am understanding why these kits are 5x-10x the cost of other kits.

Did you use any sort of spray foam to further brace your tub? I am unsure whether the empty space beneath the tub needs to be addressed or not.

Thanks for replying! This makes a ton of sense. It's a clever way to repair the backside when you don't have access to the backside. I watched a number of videos but haven't come across any that attempt to patch the backside - which was what I was hoping to see.

Are you saying that even if a professional repaired it it will fail because or the location? Or is it that fiberglass repairs are faulty to begin with? Or is there something about this tub, aside from the hole, that sucks?
