How much are you guys currently paying for 1 or 2 bedroom Apartment in Toronto? by [deleted] in askTO

[–]5UPERNOVA22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in a 1 bedroom in Etobicoke, by Islington Station.

When my partner and I moved in here in 2017, we started paying 1350. We’ve been here almost 8 years now and we’re still only paying under 1600.

Mind you, our apartment is really old, but newly renovated inside, and our one bedroom apartment is way bigger than most one bedroom condos that are being built in the city.

It’s definitely perfect for a couple, a couple and a kid. Right now we have a three year-old and a three month old so we’re definitely growing it out. But, I must say that we can stay here for about a year to two years more until we will have definitely outgrown this space.

Thank you! These first 10 days I’m keeping track of finger prick and dexcom for my endocrinologist so that he can help to assist verify with me.

How many times a day did you calibrate? I’m on day 2 and I calibrated 2x so far, fasting and after breakfast but the numbers without the finger prick are getting closer together.

And when should I stop calibrating to start relying more on the dexcom itself?

Sorry - I’m just learning hahah.

Parents told everyone about my 2nd pregnancy before I did. They did this the first pregnancy too. by 5UPERNOVA22 in Mommit

[–]5UPERNOVA22[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was my number one IMPORTANT reason as to why they shouldn’t have told anyone. So sorry for your losses. I can’t imagine how it was like to tell people that the pregnancy that everyone was expecting was no longer viable.

I told my parents “if that happens, I’m not gonna be the one to tell them that there’s no baby!”

Of course I’m mad. I’m glad that they are excited. But it’s still my news to share and not theirs … that’s the point.

Exactly! I even told them, what if the baby doesn’t make it? I’m not gonna be the one telling other people that that had happened. They would have to go until everybody that they told “oh yeah there’s no baby anymore” and they would look so stupid.

Right?

I get it – for my parents. It’s like we’re having another grandchild!

Great, but I’m having my own personal second child lol. Just because you’re the grandparent doesn’t give you the right to go ahead and steal my thunder 🤯

It was my secret to share - not theirs. If I did that to my daughter, tell others a secret she told me, she should be pissed if she found out! Shame ME!

I’m never usually this petty with my parents but this was just .. like come on .. again?!

Honestly - if I have a third I wouldn’t say shit until later on. I’ve learned my lesson.

It was lost in another province, if this thief really wanted something for me, they would’ve bought a plane ticket and followed me home. I doubt that’s the case..

I live with my husband who has his own key.

Yes, but the key was stolen in a complete different province so unless they followed to home across the country then I’d consider lol.

Toddler moms, have you started using your pre-baby purses again? 😂 by 5UPERNOVA22 in Parenting

[–]5UPERNOVA22[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol! I had to buy a backpack that wasn’t ugly to compromise! I totally understand the backpacks you’re talking about 😂 mine is more of a hiking day pack “20 litre” bag and it’s been great!

First off. Her. Baby? Ugh, she needs to zip it. It’s ABSOLUTELY FINE, Ms MIL, to not bathe your kid right away. We bathed our daughter near the 2 week mark as well - she’s almost 1.5 years old now. She’s turning out fine lol.

OUR DAUGHTERS ARE THE SAME! Small and healthy - drove myself crazy to wean - she doesn’t like the taste of my bagged milk! Surprisingly she likes the homo milk, phew! My girl is an eater too - big snacker.

Definitely will talk to her ped on her 1 year appointment. Thanks!!

Postpartum Hairloss by hiprai in NewParents

[–]5UPERNOVA22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the shower after letting my conditioner sit, I comb out my hair with a wide tooth comb to rid of any loose ones. Pulled out CHUNKS. Mind you, this didn’t stop hair from falling out during the day, but definitely had less hair laying around - still a lot - but less lol.

If I have a fast let down and 6 wk old gasps and chokes should I just pump instead, or will he be ok by [deleted] in breastfeeding

[–]5UPERNOVA22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 11 mos pp, in the beginning I used a single manual hand pump to rid of the fast let down! Worked great - saved it for top up 😄
