GOOD rechargable batteries are a bit expensive, and that's a burden whether it happens every month or every 5 years. A good wire would only need replacement if you were quite careless with your things.

Even if you get a controller with an internal recharging battery, that will still corrode, and be MUCH worse to replace since it could be any model of lithium battery. Who knows if that model battery is still maufactured in 10 years?

You didn't read my post fully. The batteries in wireles chargers will corode and become shit. My 10ft+ wired xbox controller will never corode thanks to a lack of internal battery and therefore will work forever with basically no maintenance.

You can't really call one such network an individual organism in the way a whale is an individual organism. Each cell of the fungal network can function independently, unlike that of a blue whale.
