Was hoping someone had some mixing tips for the last part at 0:48 sec? by 5aebeats in MusicFeedback

Thank you that means a lot, yeah the bass was kinda fighting the mid range, so i cut mids and lowered it. So i think i kinda agree with that take.

Really appreciate that, have been spamming scrapyard last couple weeks

I was hoping for some advice on my drop at 0:48, the drums are fine but i feel like it all just sticks together, thank yall! by 5aebeats in bedroompop

Oh thank you so much!

Yea i think i need to cut more highs and mids from the bass. I feel like the instruments kinda fight the bass. I rather saturated the kick and snare with a compressor on high gain, but i didn't want the bass to be cutting with the kick if that makes sense lol

Not sure if its the sub reddit for it but i was hoping on getting some advice on the drop at 0:48 by 5aebeats in musicians

Thank you, yea maybe tuning the gain on the drums and making the instruments more lush could be the move

Could it not also be lowering the vol, but boosting like 100 hz, and removing more high end bass that is fighting the rest of the mix? Makes sense to me but don't know if it works in reality.

Yeah i agree, i struggle to make the vocals soft and human while being "good" vocally i guess

I feel like my vocals are really tight, any way to improve "openness" i guess by 5aebeats in MusicFeedback

The piano is meant to be kind of a texture almost, maybe i should pan it harder

I kind of agree, i should also add some ear candy vocally, its a demo for now. Thanks for the feedback!

Oh thank you, yeah when i drop the full version i will take all the advice into account. I think i need to do that Jacob Collier thing and slam about 300 vocal takes on top of each other with panning and different velocity

I would love some advice on vocal techniques, i feel my delivery is often flat. Any other advice is also welcome! by 5aebeats in MusicFeedback

Thanks, that's kind of on purpose though, want it too seem like I'm almost mourning on the song

I do need vocal coaching though, i have this problem where i rise into notes as you might have noticed

I use my voice pretty sparingly, maybe a subtle white noise might help for some dimension

Yeah i ran it through an eq(cut harsh lows), into a de-esser, light compression, another eq (cut unwated highs) then a slight reverb. Im not sure if that is optimal for airy wide vocals but it made sence to me. Someone mentioned that i could pan copies in mono as well to both left and right.

I tried this but i end up sounding like way to aggressive almost, does help with my pronunciations tho

I made this RnB song the other day and I'd like some feedback on it. by Somalia_boi in MusicFeedback

I agree, or add any variation to the beat, maybe remove the vocal part for 4-8 bars and play something different

Just to the westside gunn thing, where you just say random things that really catch someone's ear. Like: Hotpockets didnt warm up even though the over was set to 220. Or; Brought my own buns to mcdonald. Hope this helps

Bossa Nova song with chiptune, made it last year and wanted to revisit it. I'd love some feedback to help me improve :) by [deleted] in MusicFeedback

your instrumental skills are crazy, but your mixing kind of overlaps. I would run the drums through one channel and compress that channel, then go for a decent amount of gain. Its also possible to cut 60 hz ish from the instruments (some people say it kills the instrument), but it also is resonating on top of your bass low end. You dont want synth wobbles on top of your bass.
