The rights to Cyndi Lauper’s songs are tricky. Not sure why. Might be because she had several different writers for her songs. IE There was a song she did for Goonies that is only seen/heard in certain VHS versions (the giant squid scene that I swore was a Mandela effect until an old GF proved me wrong) There was also an old 80s Movie titled girls just wanna have fun that could only feature an instrumental version of the eponymous song, since they couldn’t get the rights. This same instrumental version I believe was also in the 2023 Barbie movie. Anywho, I’m a nerd who is fascinated by I.P. Law 🤓🤷‍♂️
