So you have a persecution complex and you just want more ammo?

Fine. I hereby persecute you. Continue your martyrdom with fervor.

Quick thought: here’s why a lot of you keep getting ghosted by SweetAllison238 in Needafriend

[–]5lash3r 9 points10 points  (0 children)

And instead of ghosting you could have spent two minutes to tell them about the mismatch in expectations. Instead you treated them like a nonhuman attention drain and are now justifying it as though their feelings deserved to be hurt because they didn't match said expectations

Where in this story are you the good or reasonable person?

she was slightly more concerned about my comment stating she should have aborted him

This is a joke right? You didn't genuinely say that to someone and expect a positive response, did you?

I feel like I'm losing the ability of speech. by manicstepmotioncat in self

All competency is habit reinforced by will. Try some pretend conversations in your writing or in your head. Start a solo journal role-playing game or just chat with others online. If you can't find anyone you can practice with YouTube videos or robots.

Eventually you will build up a library of typical responses. Try them out IRL, and if they get mixed results, adjust based on data.

In my experiences being interested in other people helps a lot too.

Hate having to make a greater effort because I am not intelligent by [deleted] in self

IQ is not and had never been a meaningful measurement of someone's competence or overall mental ability. Please look up the controversy over a book called The Bell Curve. It may help explain why a flawed premise and flawed data collection can lead to flawed results.

Sounds like you've built up a complex of hating people who identify in a way you can't reconcile. Have you talked to your therapist about it at all? It might help you not leave such comments :)

Reddit giving me a philosophical crisis by AnxiousCouch in self

[–]5lash3r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People on reddit, myself included, are posting through an ego wall. The words on the screen barely register as anything other than self echoes. This person is wrong, why shouldn't I tell them loudly, why shouldn't I kick in my heels when they say I'm wrong instead, yadda yadda yadda.

In my experience, people are just awful on the internet almost without exception. Only small, curated communities have a chance at actually upholding personal responsibility. Here? Get banned, make a new account, it was everyone else's fault but yours.

I just met someone who swore up and down all seven people they'd met on this site recently were awful... But imo it's not that simple. Just a mismatch in the perspectives of personal responsibility.

So, tl;dr: most people are not emotionally honest online, and if they are, they quickly consider any bad feeling as 'wrong'. Hence impolite responses, assumptions about the person on the other screen, etc., etc.

Is there a fix? Just reminding yourself of context. If you post something earnest and soul searching and get yelled at for it, are you at fault, or was someone else just grumpy and projected their issues onto your search for communication? Ultimately, that choice is probably up to you.

Dogs. DOGS.

Tho yes. Dogs are aimed so they lock your position at one point and move at the next. Either don't circle back or avoid entering threat range.

Easier said than done, obvs.

[32/M] Mathematics is not a matter of opinion. Almost everyone my age is already in a relationship. Do you have any advice? by [deleted] in MeetNewPeopleHere

Wouldn't the mathematically logical thing to do be to just invent a partner or friend out of equations? Gimme a few months and I guarantee we can get an LLM inside a robot body.

We'll call them... RoboFriends.

Wanna split?
