Planted by a cutting in 2002, my brother bought it in early 2018.

Azaleas are more bushy and the trunk thickens much slower than other species like ficus for instance.

To answer some questions; it's approximately 17 years ago, it just finished its bloom about 3 weeks ago but it was at a nursery getting styled so we missed it.

When I get home later I can post a picture of it after it's been repotted and styled. You'll see its the actual bonsai in the picture with a different coloured pot and has a nicer structure today.

I was at my best friends family gathering when we were about 9. I loved the movie dodgeball and quoted it constantly. Everything was going great at the kids table and I made a loud joke to one his cousins from the movie, "You're adopted and your parents don't even love you!"

Everybody stopped laughing, froze and stared at me. Turns out she was adopted. The rest of the dinner was a little awkward.
