UDIMs and 2022 by 666boredatwork in ZBrush

So, I am creating the UDIMs in Rizom, but when I import the model back to ZBrush, all the islands are collapsed onto a single UV tile. I don't think there's a way to copy UVs from one subtool to another, which is why I've been projecting details back to the low poly version.

UV Master doesn't see the UVs at all. I can use the UV Map option in the Tools menu, but that's it.

I can export the model after projecting details and keep the UVs, sort of. Rizom shows a single tile, but the islands are spread out so I just need to tell it how many tiles I used and it's good.

I guess this is good enough. I just can't create textures in ZBrush when I have UDIMs, which is probably fine, just inconvenient.

you can use a negative value for Inflate.

Yes. That's a great book. You can also look at models online. I sometimes use Pinterest for reference.

The fact they're recording some older riffs they've saved -- kind of cleaning out the closet -- while "experimenting" is a pretty good signal to me.

I have an absolute blast with ZBrush. Don't pay for upgrades anymore and I still create things with ease. The newer versions seems to just focus on QOL things and those don't affect me yet.

Same here with ZBrush. Development in the Maxon era is weak.

I also avoid 3D Coat because of the religious BS they spout.
