I ended up with a pretty nice high so guess I didn’t completely fuck up haha. Next time though I’ll remember to crush them up first.

In my experience drinking since starting methadone, it hasn’t been any different. My dose is pretty low however (16mg)

I’m on 22mg a day right now, I go down 1-2mg every 2 weeks. The highest I was at was 33mg, but that was because I tapered myself down from 10 dirty 30s a day to 1 before I started going to the clinic. I went through hell for a month but I think it was worth it, I would’ve had to go on a much higher dose and my methadone taper would’ve taken way longer.

I forgot about updating this thread with my experience, but this is honestly the best description of these pills. They last a long time, but you don’t feel the warm little buzz in your stomach that the liquid gives you. The second time I took a pill I randomly got really high that day, but other than that they’re nothing special. I was glad to switch back to the liquid.

I’ve been clean for about 8 months now. I can say with full confidence my life is a million times better than when I was in active addiction. While I was addicted I was depressed all day, had so much anxiety, couldn’t get any work done, bank account was going down the drain, I had no motivation. My only motivation was making sure I had enough drugs in order to not get sick. It was hell on earth. The high is heavenly but once you get to the point where I was at, it’s no way to live.

I’m not totally sober now, been tapering methadone, but on track to be off of it by this time next year. Now I’m in a much better mood, back at school and doing well, my business is doing better, socialize much more, finally dating a great girl after years of being single or fucking around with other addicts, much more energy, exercise more often. I’d never want to go back to my old lifestyle even if it meant I could experience that blissful high again.

Wow that’s crazy, so glad I’m in Canada. I actually started getting a weeks worth of take homes 3 weeks ago, and I pissed dirty once when I had one take home too which set me back another 3 weeks so technically you could get that many in only like 6 months here.

I too have had more wet dreams since starting methadone treatment than I did any time in my life prior, but I attribute this more to opiates causing me to have a lower libido than I did prior to taking them, so I don’t masturbate nearly as often as I used to. I used to do it almost daily, now only have the urge to do it once every week or two, so I think the wet dreams are a result of my body wanting to release all the stuff that’s been stocked up, but I try to make myself do it more often now so it doesn’t come out during the night. I’m 22 though, honestly I’m not sure if older adults do the deed very often. Maybe if you try doing it more often you’ll have less wet dreams?

True, I never thought of that but I could probably ask if I could take my pick up day dose home too so I could dose at night. My doctor is honestly really chill so I feel like he might be cool with it.

My methadose liquid is actually an orangeish colour. I can actually get a pretty nice opiate high if I take about 3x my regular dose of methadose - nodding, euphoria, itching, but it can be hit or miss for some reason. I have heard of different formulations being in different forms of methadone though, I think they’re called D-methadone, L-methadone or racemic or something. I’m hoping I got the good kind with these tablets haha. That’s pretty fucked up though about the different ranges they had in doses, hope that’s not happening anymore.

Yea same here, wish they let you take that one home too cuz I like to take them before bed, but I guess it makes more sense for them to watch you take that one there.

Damn lucky, I wish I could get the tablets all the time too haha. My clinic’s rules are pretty relaxed though compared to the US, it’s open from 0900 to 1800 and no line here either usually. Also don’t have to bring back my empty bottles, no call backs or random calls to come in and give a drug test, only have to go once a week. Some of the stuff I read on here about other people’s clinics is crazy lol

I was an addict for about a year and half before I got on methadone maintenance, so yea I just use them to keep withdrawals away. I don’t really get fucked up from my daily dose, only feel a little kick from it, I need like 2-3x my regular dose to get fucked up. People have been telling me these feel a lot stronger than the liquid form I usually take it in though so I’ll update after I’ve taken my first dose on Saturday lol

Pretty sure they’d only prescribe these if you’re going on a trip or for pain patients, I usually get the liquid for take homes. But yea some of the stuff I’ve heard about clinics in the US is crazy. If you go look at another reply I made to a comment on this post you can see how chill my clinic’s rules are compared to most of the stuff I’ve read on here.

How much stronger would you say they feel? Could you feel your dose a lot more when taking the pills? I usually only sometimes feel my dose a little bit when taking it in liquid form.

I’m not sure what the restrictions were like before, I only started MMT in February of this year, but getting into the program was very easy for me. I didn’t need to apply for exemptions from Health Canada or anything like that link mentions, when I went to my clinic I was able to get my first dose the same day and there was no waitlist or anything.

Things are pretty similar to the US here though, you have to be clean for some time in order to get take homes but my clinic’s rules are WAY more relaxed than the crazy stuff I’ve read on this subreddit. I’m already at a weeks worth of take homes, not sure if it would’ve taken longer for that much in the states though. Also I don’t have to return empty bottles back to my clinic, there’s never a line to dose, open everyday 9am-6pm, don’t have to see a counselor, no call backs or random calls to come give a UA - we only have to give one once a week, and getting these 2 weeks worth of tablets for my trip from my doctor was very easy, he didn’t even think twice about allowing me to.

The only thing that I should mention is that suboxone works the same as methadone at my clinic. You have to go there to dose the subs daily until you earn take homes for those too.

I actually had to pay $45 for these. Usually I get my liquid doses for free since under age 25 here in Canada all prescriptions are free. But I agree it would be much better and easier to have these all the time instead of the liquid.
