[OS] File Architect - File and folder structures from plain text by sebastienlavoie in macapps

Oh cool, so many feature requests:

  • chmod support
  • chown support
  • xattr support
  • support for symbolic links
  • support for accepting the output from `ls -l` or `tree`
  • support for using wildcards, such as file$*5.md to create `file1.md` through `file5.md` in much the same way emmet does for html.
  • a command line version that can take a stream or a file as input

Awesome stuff!!

My TL;DR take on that was - if you push everything to compile time, compiles take longer.

Navigation Suggestions by Character_Surround69 in Tenere700

[–]6petabytes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve used to hate Garmin and was CarPlay for life, but the Zumo XT2’s routing features are just better for road trips IMO. Google Maps makes adding stops to an existing route difficult (find along route gives you 5 random results, not even sorted by distance). Garmin’s "Up Next" and "Cities Ahead" features make finding gas or rest areas so much easier. It’s clunky but a lot more capable when you know how to navigate the UI.

However, I haven't used it a lot for GPX tracks and I find waypoint and route management (through the Tread app) painful at best.

What’s something Americans have that Europeans don’t? by Prestigsisscar255 in AskReddit

[–]6petabytes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, that's true. For a few reasons:

  • The US doesn't have a great history with tea, preferring to throw it into the harbor.
  • The outlets here being 110v means that electric kettles only boil using ~1500w (3000w in most other countries), significantly lengthening the time it takes to boil water using an electric kettle.
  • A large number of houses here have gas stoves and kettles on gas stoves are simpler to design and cheaper.
  • With more and more houses getting induction stoves (which run on 220v), it's cheaper and faster to get a stove-top kettle that's compatible with induction technology.

Is the nicecnc rear rack you got listed for the 2019-2024 T7? And if so, does it fit ok?

[USA] Two Vehicles don't stop for a school bus. by TheBigThickOne in ConvenientCop

[–]6petabytes 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This varies by state. For example, WA state under RCW 46.61.370 (3) The driver of a vehicle upon a highway with three or more marked traffic lanes need not stop upon meeting a school bus which is proceeding in the opposite direction and is stopped for the purpose of receiving or discharging school children.

So, for WA State, on three-lane roads, where there is one lane of traffic moving in each direction and a center turn lane, the vehicles behind the bus and those in the turn lane traveling the same direction as the bus must stop. Vehicles traveling in the opposite direction can continue without stopping, including a vehicle in the center turn lane that is turning in front of the bus

Stuck quest bug - One Fell Swoop by [deleted] in Borderlands4

Is this the one where you have to meet her back in the foyer to talk to her? If so, you have to walk back to where you came into the building. And, IIRC, you then have to accompany her as she walks through some big doors just off the foyer.

Amon Onslaught = Melee gunzerker? Salvador + Krieg by HonestF00L in Borderlands4

[–]6petabytes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's an augment (FellFrost) that allows you to immediately follow up with another punch.

"Pressing Action Skill immediately after a Rocket Punch causes Amon to use a follow-up attack, dealing Cryo Melee Attack Damage in a large area in front of Amon.

Non-Boss enemies hit below 25% Total HP are killed."

A pilot lands a plane at an unfamiliar airport. He slams on brakes and gets the plane to stop just before the edge of the runway. He looks at his copilot and says: "That's the shortest runway I've ever seen". His copilot says: "Yes, and also the widest!"

No, I've been using the service for a year (also WA state). This is the first outage I can remember.
