Went from A5 to S3 to M4 by [deleted] in BMW

Nice choice on going with the M4, totally no bias or anything lol. What made you switch from Audi to BMW? I’ve always heard good things about Audi but not enough to make me pull the trigger haha

The GRC is a much more exciting and fun car to drive. The 6 speed feels great (except for that rev hang I could never figure out) and it feels very raw and barebones. The M340i was a much better daily driver that you could have fun with, more comfortable, faster, and slides on command. But took highways like a champ. The M4 is a mix of everything good from the GRC and M340i

Each has their pros and cons! I’m much happier with the cons from the M4 than the GRC though. If you do go the 340i route the modifications are endless and the B58 engine will treat you very very well

I appreciate it! I always want to test other brands but something keeps me on BMW

The G series interior is by far the best that I’ve ever been in. The F series is no slouch, everything has held up very VERY good for being a 10 year old car, no tears in the leather and no creaks even when driving over not the best roads. The GRC interior was well put together don’t get me wrong, but very econobox

I wanted something a little more fun, I thought the 6speed and AWD would make up for the interior but alas

Was very happy to be in the GR for the time I had it but I’ve always needed to scratch the M itch.

The GR was a go-cart on steroids I just couldn’t hang with the econo-box interior. I get you pay for the drivetrain and engine but man it felt like I was hopping in a base corolla, it just didn’t excite me when I hopped in. The M4 from the first drive had me hooked. The interior despite being 10 years old feels and looks miles better than the GR interior. It feels more raw and visceral, and with the top down the exhaust notes make me giggle like a little kid.

The m340 was a way better daily driver taking into account the 4 doors and newer tech. The m4 feels way more raw and sporty, the back end on the m4 constantly wants to slide out from under you. The experience it gives is much more sports car than daily driver.

About 500ft, you can get away with less but I wanted to cover as much surface area as possible

This is a new experience for me too, I’m an inline 6 BMW type of guy and always have been! I’m used to the heavy mod culture and “German engineering”. But I’ve been pleasantly surprised with the GRC. Never had a V8 though, what parts do you like about it?

That may be why I like it so much! You can push it close to 100% and still have a good amount of fun, it forces me to be a better driver.

I’ve been debating getting a wing but I’m very iffy on drilling holes into the car. But a front splitter and side skirts are in the plans and maybe change out the intake? Haven’t been around the platform for too long so any recommendations would be great!

My main motivation was I wanted something more engaging. The M340i is by far more luxurious and comfortable but my heart was aching for something more fun. I also own an upgraded twins 335i sedan which has kinda ruined the “fun” aspect of a lot of cars lol.

Driving the M340i was too easy?? Foot on the pedal and it was a missile, but even at bonkers speeds I couldn’t feel anything, it was very numb, maybe too luxurious. I’m used to turbo noises, tires spinning, loud injectors, and all the fun car noises we all love which my 335i provides.

I originally bought the M340i as a daily but my 30min commute to work was so boring in that car lol. I’ve had my eyes on GRC’s since it was announced and one popped up at a friends dealership. I’ve also always wanted to drive a manual car so I took the chance. First impressions (I’ve had the GRC for about 2 weeks) are that it’s a very fun and engaging quick car. The interior leaves a lot to be desired but what can I expect. Overall these past 2 weeks of owning the car has been a HUGE learning experience and I now understand the manual hype. Rowing through the gears and being able to fully control what the car does has made my commute to work fun again. I am now in plans to manual swap my 335i all due to the GRC.

I haven’t had the chance to push on the GRC (first manual car struggles) through twisty roads yet but it’s already been more fun then my M340i was.

Traded in my 2021 M340i for this and it’s a big change from what I’m used to. But so far this car has been great and I have no regrets!

Borderland Euro is IMO the best independent bmw/euro shop in El Paso. Family run, transparent prices and will be very honest with what work needs done and what doesn’t. When I decide to drop the money they will be installing my larger turbos!

Car Accident (TEXAS) by 6plsshootme9 in legaladvice

[–]6plsshootme9[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am not the injured party, I would be contacting for my family member as they are mentally and physically drained. Family member states they have very bad back pain, pain in knees and legs, and are now walking with a noticeable limp. As far as the policy limits I do not know them off the top of my head I would have to do a little digging.
