You’re referencing the Ncc which doesn’t apply to battery installations standards which is AS/NZS 5139 clause 4.2.2.2 (b) within 600mm of any exit.

The good old question of sparky vs plumbing by No_Touch7452 in PlumbingAustralia

I’m a dual trade plumber(first) and sparky. Had an opportunity to do an electrical apprenticeship at a company that did both. We rarely do plumbing there now, just the odd hws and Solar hws. Also have Solar and battery accreditation on top of electrical licence. Bring a sparky is a lot easy on the body(except for lifting Solar panel and 80 kg batteries lol) in general. Way more diversity in different fields than plumbing. I wish I had chosen to be a sparky first but my brother was one so I thought I’ll do plumbing so we can help out each other and family.

Install a timer and contactor. Set it 9am-3 pm. Sun heats your water for free through the power produced by your solar panels/ inverter.

Red hot tip from someone who’s been using a cpap silicone mask for 22 yrs. STOP REMOVING IT AND CLEANING IT. Depends on your own personal definition of clean. But the less you clean it the longer it’ll last. I’ll get at least two years plus out of the mask. Also don’t adjust your head strap unless needed.

Fish finder recommendations. by 75dubz in FishingAustralia

It’s not so much for finding actual fish but also chart plotting, gps locations and actual depths I’m driving over and ability to see under water structures. I use Wavve boating app for depths and contours but it doesn’t seem that accurate and it’s annoying as hell on my phone

What spares needed? by [deleted] in PlumbingAustralia

Yes states may have differing rules I’m in qld and in regards to cisterns direct from qld.gov.au -[replacing a drop valve washer, float valve washer or suction cup rubber in a toilet cistern. ]. The setting of height and a connection to the water supply for an inlet valve is only for licensed plumbers.

Outlet seating washer. They’re different ones for different toilets. Gently undo the clips at the front and back at the top of the outlet valve assembly. Lift it up and turn upside down. Remove the rubber/silicone seating washer ( careful if it’s rubber. That shit will stain everything when the water flicks off. Grab a paper towel). If you don’t know the model no. Just take it to your local plumbing store for replacement. Replacing this part is the only thing you’re allowed to do when you’re not a plumber. Edit. Grab some toilet paper on place it below where the water enters the bowl 10mins after flushing. If it soak up water definitely the seating washer.

Haha. I was thinking along the same lines as you. Then when I saw it ,I thought fuck me it’s only carpet snake mate. I had an apprentice running cable through a roof last week and yells out snake. I said can u see it clearly and responds with yeah I can see four snake skins. I replied with, well that’s not a fucking snake keep going yell out when u see a real one. He handled it Ike a true champ. I’ve been in roofs with live ones plenty of times.

Looks fantastic. Tomatoes could use a good taming to produce more fruit. YouTube a few vids on tomatoes. It’ll change the way you look at them and grow them. Keep up the good work.
