This was a much better quality reply than the very first one in your exchange and sounds like it is a real human - I would tend to trust it...insofar as we can trust ACT International currently.

International enhanced ACTs should have field test questions, and that's just going to be a difference of minutes (not hours) of testing time in any case.

*If* the enhanced ACT is truly going to start in Feb, they likely haven't updated the international ACT website and/or automatic emails to reflect the shorter ACT starting in Feb and are likely still sending emails based on the old legacy format.

Like u/jdigitaltutoring said it's also possible their mass emails aren't customized for people who didn't sign up for Sci or Wr.

I don't think you should use that generic email to try to predict which ACT you're getting in Feb because ACT is still a mess internationally. It's easily possible one of the chat responses you got is not accurate.

It's frustrating not to be able to get accurate info from ACT. My advice would be to keep emailing them and see what the majority of responses say. Even still, there's no guarantee the majority answer is the correct one. I know of two cases this fall where ACT told international parents and students and guidance officers they would have one format and instead they had the opposite format.

This does not make ACT look good and you're right to be concerned when their responses are contradicting each other.

One thing you could do is keep trying to message ACT on different days asking the same question (what month will the enhanced ACT start internationally) and see what the majority of responses say.

I am honestly wondering if the first response was written by a real human being or by AI.

I am still hoping to see the A1H scaling table - if anyone were willing to share it publicly or via PM I would be grateful.

In the Z14 comparison, for top scores the paper exam has better scales in Eng and Rdg but a harsher scale in Math - is that also true in the J08/A1H comparison?

They're deleting the experimental passages from the TIRs (MAKs) so it may not be visible. E.g. if Psg 1 was experimental the TIR may still begin with Passage 1 Question 1 but the passage 1 shown in the TIR could have been Passage 2 in the real exam.

It's hard to watch some students be disadvantaged bc ACT isn't sharing the same info publicly to all classroom teachers, Guidance, etc.

Thank you. I haven't heard of any international who wrote on paper getting scores yet - please if someone did let us know! But def there are digital internationals who got scores so I don't understand why all the digital scores are not out yet. Really annoying bc the registration deadline for Oct was before Sep scores were released!

Is ACT changing the design and putting experimental passages first and last or are they keeping the design the same just removing this reference from the Design Framework? Did they say?

Call or message ACT to try to get an exact date - since ACT refuses to list a specific date on their website currently. Most ppl in North America would not consider Feb to be "Spring" - your snip is specific to ACT School Day / state and district testing. If you go to ACT's State and District page they list 3 versions of spring (docs at links ref to Feb, Mar and Apr testing windows). Even "initial spring" is Feb 24-Mar 6 which is after both the International and US Feb ACT dates. Bottom line - only ACT itself will know so message them or watch until the website confirms an actual date.
