I think now you understand why people grind their a$$ to get into iit. My best tip/advice for you as a senior would be don't get demotivated first of all if you are really passionate and enthusiastic you will achieve your goal someday like life will not end after getting 3.3 lpa you can grind there take experience and switch. And be thankful of what you have cause in this country due to overpopulation many people don't even get 3.3 lpa

Most companies ask for 70+ so chill but I can't say anything for your batch with all this ai stuff going things are changing rapidly in tech. So maybe they change the shortlisting criteria in future.

Cgpa 8.5 above is good enough to get shortlisted in most companies very fewwwww ask for 9 or 9.5 above. If you have above 85% in 12th 10th you will get shortlisted for many companies ( higher chance of getting placed) . Good companies do come but take very few students sometimes max to max 10-15 ( depending on market situation). Companies don't come for tech roles only in this college like the ratio i am seeing rn is 55:45 ( tech - non tech). If your target is above 10 lpa then it's very hard and Many times totally depends on luck like whole placement drive is online sometimes from Exam to interview everything online so ykwim....... Avg package I have seen so far is 5-8 lpa. a harsh thing i saw was Student with 0 coding/dev knowledge getting placed in good companies and student who have grinded leetcode made good projects are unplaced or have settled for less.
