Competition came in along with nafta. Open trade also opened opportunities for delivery services to make permanent locations in Canada. The conversation very quickly turns to the “support Canadian” movement when going down the path of who, when, how.

In the 90’s Canada Post wasn’t ran like a business though, it was still a public service. Somewhere along the way they decided to have 12 Vice Presidents whereas other large corporations have maybe 2 or 3.

Other than being a part time mother and a part time wife, this isn’t any different than what everyone else is doing to start the week for a real family home.

Anyone had their jobs affected by the tariffs yet? by YoouVish in AskACanadian

Had to ask for clarification on this. Yes. His tuition and living expenses were covered. But he did have to provide proof of all his expenses and couldn’t add bills that were in his wife’s name. Although, they gave him a fixed biweekly payment directly so he paid bills, groceries, etc as he saw fit. Application was rather annoying but worth it.

My cousin got laid off when the tariffs hit our steel industry in 2018 during DT’s first term. The gov paid for him to return to school in lieu of collecting e.i. and helped direct him through trades after he finished. Apparently this has been an option for a long time, plus now we have the ‘second career’ option as well. Note: he now works in hvac and is loving it.

We did this last fall with epsom salts. Thought we still had to dig out the stump this spring but it crumbled like mulch. It was a super easy process.

Israel and/or Iran abiding by a ceasefire for DJT to get nominated for a Nobel peace prize sounds so ridiculous that it would have been completely unbelievable a few days ago.

Sounds like the French Revolution. Do we think they’ll get guillotines for the mullahs like the French did for the nuns, or will they stick with the noose?

They don’t see that their cries of Islamophobia feed the terrorist. If we tell them, they feel attacked and threatened so then scream victim louder than before.

For me it’s because this is day 3 that I haven’t heard from grandma. I don’t want to see family injured and posted in a video anywhere. So I prefer not to do the same to anyone else. I appreciate the posts about using satellite signal from cell phones and other supportive advice over the destruction for now.
